  • Publication number: 20220032274
Abstract: The present invention relates to an isomerisation catalyst, in particular a zeolite catalyst. There is provided a method for making a particularly preferred zeolite catalyst by means of modifying catalytic zeolite materials. There is also provided a 5 process for isomerising fatty acids or alkyl esters thereof to produce branched fatty acids employing such an isomerisation catalyst, a composition comprising branched fatty acids, and also use of the isomerisation catalyst.

  • Patent number: 9816051
Abstract: A self-metathesis process for the production of unsaturated dicarboxylic fatty diacids and/or unsaturated dicarboxylic fatty diesters, wherein unsaturated carboxylic fatty acids and/or esters of unsaturated carboxylic fatty acids are reacted in the presence of at least one defined ruthenium based catalyst compound. A catalyst enhancer compound selected from a sacrificial catalyst or a non-catalyst enhancer may also be used. The process exhibits improved reaction times and/or the catalyst can be used at very low concentrations.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 2013
Date of Patent: November 14, 2017
    Assignee: Croda International PLC
Inventors: Bastiaan Wels, Hans Ridderikhoff, Tanja Van Bergen-Brenkman, Dessy Liminto
  • Patent number: 9771543
Abstract: A process for producing a composition having a ratio by weight of C10-C26 monobranched fatty acids or alkyl esters thereof to C10-C26 polybranched fatty acids or alkyl esters thereof of greater than 6 using a zeolite, preferably ferrierite, isomerization catalyst. The zeolite catalyst is preferably the only isomerization catalyst used. The zeolite catalyst can be reused many times after simple separation from the reaction products without having to be regenerated.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 26, 2017
    Assignee: CRODA INTERNATIONAL PLC
Inventors: Tanja Van Bergen-Brenkman, Negar Rashidi, Bastiaan Wels
  • Patent number: 9604903
Abstract: A process of metathesizing a feedstock in the presence of a metathesis catalyst and at least one catalyst enhancer. The catalyst enhancer can be selected from a sacrificial catalyst or a non-catalyst enhancer. The process exhibits improved reaction times and/or the metathesis catalyst can be used at very low concentrations.
