  • Patent number: 10406291
Abstract: An autoinjector (100) for expelling a single dose of drug from a drug cartridge (600) including a piston (630), the autoinjector including: a base (200, 220), a needle (500) that is fixedly mounted relative to the base (200, 220), a plunger (310, 320, 400) adapted for cooperation with the piston (630), an actuating spring (330) provided as a helical compression spring arranged to act on the plunger (310, 320, 400) by exerting an axial force on the plunger to drive the piston (630) distally, and a needle shield (350, 380) axially movable relative to the base (200, 220) between an extended position and a collapsed position. The autoinjector defines a lock (320, 328, 380, 388) that is released when the needle shield (350, 380) is moved from the extended position to the collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 10179212
Abstract: An injection device for expelling a dose of drug from a held cartridge (600) is described. A needle shield (350, 380) is axially movable relative to a base (200, 220, 230) between a proximal collapsed position and a distal extended position. A needle shield lock comprises a deflectable lock element (392) operable to prevent the needle shield (350, 380) from being moved towards the proximal collapsed position. A lock activator (402) associated with a plunger (310, 400) exerts an activation force on the deflectable lock element when the plunger assumes a final position. A biasing means (403) is arranged to act between the lock activator (402) and the deflectable lock element (392), the biasing means (403) being configured to resiliency transfer the activation force from the lock activator (402) to the deflectable lock element (392) to enable the needle shield (350, 380) to become locked in the distal extended position but only when the plunger (310, 400) assumes the final position.

  • Patent number: 9604007
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical injection system comprising a medical injection device (100) of the type comprising a rotatable dose setting member (160). The system further comprises a dose limiter module (200) adapted for being releasably coupled to the injection device (100). The dose limiter module (200) comprises a dose limiter base (201) and a limiter (240) arranged relative to the dose limiter base (201) so that their relative position is adjustable to set an adjusted dose limiting position. When the dose limiter module (200) is coupled to the injection device (100), the limiter (240) cooperates with the dose setting member (160) to define a blocking means for preventing rotation of the dose setting member (160) beyond the adjusted dose limiting position.

Abstract: An autoinjector (100) for expelling a single dose of drug from a held cartridge (600) comprising a piston (630), the autoinjector comprising: a) a base (200, 220), b) a needle (500) that is fixedly mounted relative to the base (200, 220), c) a plunger (310, 320, 400) adapted for cooperation with the piston (630), d) an actuating spring (330) arranged to act on the plunger (310, 320, 400) to drive the piston (630) distally, and e) a needle shield (350, 380) axially movable relative to the base (200, 220) between an extended position and a collapsed position. In an initial state, a thread (325) of the plunger (310, 320, 400) engages a base thread (205) to maintain the plunger in an initial axial position. The autoinjector defines a lock (320, 328, 380, 388) that is released when the needle shield (350, 380) is moved from the extended position to the collapsed position.

  • Publication number: 20160317745
Abstract: The present invention relates to an auto-injection device (100) repeatedly activateable for automatically expelling multiple set doses of a liquid drug. An activation button (190) protrudes from a proximal end of a housing (101) and is axially moveable between an activateable position and an activated position. The auto-injection device includes dose setting means comprising a dose setting device (170) that performs a helical movement away from a zero dose position during setting of a dose and returns by a helical movement to the zero dose position as the set dose is expelled. The dose setting device (170) is coupled to the activation button (190) to retain the activation button in the activated position when the dose setting device (170) assumes its zero dose position.

  • Publication number: 20140200519
Abstract: The present invention relates to a medical delivery comprising a) a housing (101) adapted to accommodate a drug in a drug reservoir (110), the housing (101) having an exterior surface defining at least one non-circular section, b) a drive mechanism for expelling doses of drug from the drug reservoir (110) and c) an operable control member (150) arranged at the non-circular section of the housing, the operable control member (150) being movable relative to the non-circular section of the housing for altering a parameter relating to the operation of the medical delivery device. The operable control member (150) comprises a belt-like structure arranged to move along the non-circular section of the housing so that respective portions of the operable control member change radius of curvature as the respective portions move relative to the non-circular section of the housing.
