  • Patent number: 5361126
Abstract: An imaging apparatus including a transferring device for transferring a toner image from an image-forming medium to a receiving material, comprising an endless movable intermediate provided with a top layer which in a first transfer zone is in contact with the image-forming medium, heater for heating the toner image on the top layer of the intermediate, a pressure applying roller which in a second transfer zone can be brought into contact with the intermediate, a transport roller for transporting the receiving material through the second transfer zone, wherein removal of impurities transferred by receiving materials to the top layer of the intermediate is realized by absorption of the impurities by an impurity-absorbent material within the intermediate.

  • Patent number: 4971844
Abstract: A device for fixing or transferring and fixing a powder containing thermoplastic resin on to a receiving material under the influence of pressure and heat, in which device the fixing member in pressure contact with the powder during the fixing of the powder image is provided with an outer covering consisting mainly of silicone rubber. The silicone rubber is the reaction product of polyorganosiloxane bearing Si--H groups and polyorganosiloxane which bears Si--(CH.dbd.CH.sub.2) groups and which on average contains between 40 and 1000 monomeric units per polymer chain, bears 1.5-4 terminal vinyl groups, bears at most one non-terminal vinyl group per 80 monomeric units and contains at most 2% Si atoms in the form of SiO3/2 or SiO4/2 units. The thickness of the silicone rubber covering is preferably less than 500 micrometers.

  • Patent number: 4054450
Abstract: Fading of the light-sensitivity of a dye-sensitized photoconductive layer used repeatedly for image formation in indirect electrophotographic copying is avoided by employing a photoconductive layer sensitized by a nitro-substituted dye such as a nitro-fluorescein or a nitro-phenolsulfonephthalein.

  • Patent number: 3951655
Abstract: Electrophotographic sheet material comprising a dye-sensitized photoconductive layer is made resistant to fading of its light-sensitivity by incorporating in the photoconductive layer a nitro-substituted xanthene dye, e.g. safrosin.
