The method determines whether the food is plant-based or animal-based, the extent in which the food is processed and the nutritional characteristics of the food. After making these determinations, the method categorizes the food to a food level between 0 and 10 based on whether the food is plant-based or animal-based, the food's extent of processing and the food's nutritional characteristics.
