  • Publication number: 20130228994
Abstract: A single-wheel suspension of a non-steerable driven wheel of a two-track vehicle is provided. The suspension includes two longitudinal control arms that pivot in a vertical plane. The first control arm is supported by a vertical pendulum support and supports a wheel bearing. The second control arm is supported with one rotational degree of freedom on the vehicle and is connected to the first control arm with one rotation degree of freedom by a connecting member between the wheel bearing and the pendulum support. At least a section of the first control arm between the wheel bearing and the connecting member is located inside the wheel rim space. A gear mechanism at least partially inside the wheel rim includes two transmission stages laterally offset from one another. The rotational axes of a connection shaft connecting first and second transmission stages and the connection element between the two control arms coincide.

  • Publication number: 20130221647
Abstract: A motor vehicle having a safety device for protecting pedestrians or bicyclists that collide with the motor vehicle includes an airbag which, in the non-activated basic state, is arranged folded together on an automotive body and, in the activated deployed state, at least partially covers a frame around the windshield. In the activated state, the airbag stretches out a windshield cover in front of the windshield. The cover has a region in which a plurality of energy dissipators are distributed on the side of the cover facing the windshield. During an impact with a person's head, the region is pressed against the windshield. The energy dissipators cause prior damage to the windshield, such that the rigidity of the windshield in this region is reduced. The windshield thus yields upon impact of the head in the region.

  • Publication number: 20130223568
Abstract: A receiving arrangement of a motor vehicle has a first antenna array disposed at or on the body of the motor vehicle, and having a second antenna array disposed on a window pane of the motor vehicle. The antenna arrays are coupled to a receiving unit for further processing, in particular, for the demodulation and/or decoding of a respective received signal of the antenna arrays. The receiving unit is directly connected with the first and the second antenna array. The receiving unit, during operation, causes a conversion of a respective received analog signal of the antenna arrays to a respective loss-free transportable digital signal, which the receiving unit provides to a control unit of the receiving unit for further processing.

  • Publication number: 20130222212
Abstract: A motor vehicle with a device for influencing the viewing direction of the driver has a hazard detection and warning output device and a display unit for displaying information contents and/or entertainment contents. The display unit is arranged essentially centrally in the dashboard of the motor vehicle. The passenger compartment of the motor vehicle has a lighting device that is suitable for outputting a dynamic light animation and extends essentially from the display unit to the driver's field of vision on the windshield of the motor vehicle. A light animation that constitutes a movement of light in the direction of the driver's field of vision can be outputted, in order to output a warning about a hazard that relates to or could relate to what is happening on the road in front of the motor vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20130199507
Abstract: A method is provided for producing a ventilation bore in a thrust bearing of a crankcase of a reciprocating internal combustion engine by milling. The milling cutter is an angled-head milling cutter, which is introduced into the crankcase in the direction of a cylinder longitudinal axis and is moved in the direction of a crankcase longitudinal axis until the thrust bearing is perforated. Subsequently, the angled-head milling cutter is moved back in the direction of the crankcase longitudinal axis and removed from the crankcase by moving the angled-head milling cutter in the direction of the cylinder longitudinal axis. Internal stresses in the crankcase are avoided by the production of the ventilation bore, as a result of which the strength of the crankcase is increased.

  • Publication number: 20130205258
Abstract: A method for selecting a list element from a list displayable on a motor vehicle display unit. The list is displayed on a first display unit. First upwards/downwards commands are received upon actuation of an operating element by a user and, corresponding to the first upwards/downwards commands received, a first preselection region, which highlights a plurality of list elements, is moved upwards/downwards within the displayed list. A first selection command is received upon an actuation of the operating element and then a sublist, which exclusively comprises the list elements highlighted by the first preselection region is displayed on a second display unit. Second upwards/downwards commands are received and, corresponding thereto, a second preselection region, which highlights a single list element in the sublist, is moved upwards/downwards within the displayed sublist. A second selection command selects the list element highlighted by the second preselection region.

  • Publication number: 20130204505
Abstract: A motor vehicle speed control system having a distance sensor operates in a first mode when the vehicle is traveling on a clear stretch of road in which a predetermined desired vehicle speed is set. In a second mode when the vehicle is following another vehicle, a predetermined minimum distance from a selected target object is set. The target object is selected by a first selection process that screens out stationary objects. When a defined condition prevails, the first mode switches into a third mode in the form of deceleration, wherein a second selection process is started which also evaluates stationary target objects. Until a target object is selected, the vehicle travels on a clear road with deceleration initiated which is reduced relative to following another vehicle. If a target object is selected by the second selection process, the system switches over without delay from the third mode into the second mode.

  • Publication number: 20130192546
Abstract: A coolant jacket is provided for a liquid-cooled cylinder head for an internal combustion engine having a crankcase. The cylinder head has a gas exchange intake side having two gas exchange intake valves and a gas exchange exhaust side having two gas exchange exhaust valves. A fuel injection valve is provided on the intake side and an ignition device is provided on the exhaust side between the gas exchange valves. The coolant jacket extends as a first partial coolant jacket on the exhaust side, coming from the crankcase, between the gas exchange exhaust valves and then radially outside around the ignition device and the fuel injection valve and further in the direction of the intake side and the crankcase. Optimal cooling of the ignition device and the fuel injection valve is achieved which enables high specific powers and pressures leading to fuel consumption and cost advantages.

  • Publication number: 20130175990
Abstract: An electric vehicle includes an electric machine, a generator generating a first AC output current, an internal combustion engine driving the generator, and a first electric plug-in charging device. When the engine is started, the generator supplies the battery with charging power. The first plug-in charging device is geometrically configured to be connectable with single phase AC power mains to supply the battery with charging power in a vehicle deactivated state. The first plug-in charging device is configured for a maximum electric power voltage load of 240 volts and a maximum current strength of 32 amperes. A second electric plug-in charging device is integrated into the vehicle. A DC charging station is connectable to the second charging device in the deactivated state so the DC charging station is usable either exclusively or simultaneously with the single phase AC power mains for charging the battery.

  • Publication number: 20130173085
Abstract: A method detects a lack of driver activity at the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. A moment imparted by hand to the steering wheel by the driver is repeatedly measured, and if in a plurality of successive measurements the magnitude of a value of the moment imparted by hand does not exceed a threshold value, a lack of driver activity is inferred. The magnitude of the threshold value is dependent on the surface condition, in particular on the degree of unevenness, of the roadway being traveled upon. The degree of unevenness of the roadway may be derived from a measured vertical acceleration in the wheel suspension of the vehicle or from deceleration and/or acceleration signals of at least one wheel of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20130167682
Abstract: A shift device with an over-shift lock for a multi-speed transmission of a motor vehicle, in which individual gears are shifted incrementally, is provided. The shift device has a pivotable shifting element which is composed of an activation element and a driver element displaceably held thereon. Both elements have mutually aligned oblong holes which are penetrated by a shifting shaft leading to the transmission. A shifting process is limited by the striking of the shifting shaft against the end sides of the oblong holes. In this position, the alternating influencing of the shifting shaft and the contours of the oblong holes prevents a further rotation of the shifting shaft and thereby an over-shifting of the transmission.
