  • Patent number: 8438952
Abstract: A cut and strip machine (1) for producing cable-sections by processing a passing cable, especially coaxial or optical cable (2). Cable-sections are cut off from the cable, and on both ends of each cable-section at least one insulating layer can be notched/cut and stripped off. The machine comprises at least one cable feeding device (3, 4), and a cable processing unit, preferably cutting unit (6) arranged adjustably transverse to a cable axis, as well as a first cable guiding unit arranged—in a feeding direction (5) of the cable (2)—in front of said cable processing unit (6). A second cable guiding unit is arranged behind said cable processing unit (6). These first and second cable guiding units may be formed as fixed, non-rotating first and second cable centering units (7, 8). These are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the cable processing unit (6), and are suitable for centering, preferably straight-line centering, of the cable (2) on both its sides.

  • Patent number: 8234772
Abstract: A continuous cable processing apparatus for producing cable sections with processed ends comprises a cable transport apparatus having at least one transporter for moving and holding the cable in the axial direction and, transversely thereto, a processing station. According to a special variant, two transporters are arranged in the longitudinal cable direction on both sides of the processing station and, after the cable has been cut through, each hold one of the cable end regions produced on cutting, so that the end regions are movable in the longitudinal cable direction. At least one of these end processing stations is arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction, adjacent to the processing station and at least one transporter is movable transversely with respect to the longitudinal cable direction so that a cable end region can be fed to the end processing station.

  • Patent number: 7140273
Abstract: Wire processing apparatus (10). The apparatus (10) includes an electronic memory for storing values commensurate with the lengths from a terminal end of the wire (21) to the positions of cuts to be made through the plurality of coating layers (X,Y,Z), and a mechanical store for controlling the depths of each cut. Threaded shafts (84, 84, 84) are mounted upon a turret which is movable both rotationally and axially with respect to the wire being processed. The electronic memory is preferably adapted to receive inputs representing parameters of sequential steps in each of two processing operations, and to perform such operations alternately, upon different wire ends, upon successive actuation's of the apparatus (10). A further feature of the apparatus is an arrangement permitting the force exerted on the wire (21) by a pair of gripping members (32, 32) to remain substantially constant over a range of different wire diameters.

  • Publication number: 20030196520
Abstract: A stripping device for multi-wire cables containing cable wires includes a clamping device, at least two non-rotatable blades acting against one another, at least two jaws that are adapted for displacement relative to one another toward the cable wires, and a drive for providing relative movement between the jaws and the cable wires along the cable wires. The relative-movement drive brings the cable wires into a single plane and parallel to each other.

  • Patent number: 5950505
Abstract: The invention relates to a stripping device for electric or optical cables or similar articles, having a centering holding apparatus and having at least two stripping blades (10), each of which is fastened to a blade arm (5), which arm (5) is rotatable about an axis of rotation (35), each arm (5) being linear and being linearly displaceable in the direction of a radial towards the axis of rotation (35) on a rotary ring (7), which is rotatably mounted with the arm (5). The possibility of linear displacement of the stripping blades (10) has the advantage that, regardless of the thickness of the material to be stripped, the blades (10) strike the outer sheath of the material to be stripped at the correct position. Cutting is therefore carried out without tilting, regardless of the thickness of the material to be cut. Further advantages arise from special embodiments.
