Patent number: 6393667Abstract: A machine (28, 201, K, 400) for processing textile material with at least one sliver-forming device (209, 41) and a coiler (42, KA) is provided with a drafting arrangement (2, 110, 213) in such a way that at least the coiler (42, KA) is formed by a subassembly of a draw frame (1, S) for doubling and drafting slivers (40, F, 52, 120), with the subassembly (1, S) also comprising the drafting arrangement (2, 213) of the draw frame.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2001Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Walter Slavik, Viktor Pietrini, Beat Näf, Jürg Faas, Christian Müller

Patent number: 6336256Abstract: The object of the invention is to facilitate the entry of a fiber band into a drawing machine. The invention is comprised of a fiber band insertion apparatus having a combination condenser and guide device with a longitudinal slot extending over its entire length. The guide device is followed by roll pair, which, at least during the laying in of the fiber band, has an accessible entry opening. This opening is at least partially formed by a recess in at least one of the opposed sides of the roll pair. The recess is separated by a flange on one of the circumferential rim surfaces which are mutually profiled to provide space for a compression line for the fiber band. The entry opening of the roll pair and/or feeders, as well as the entry slot of the condenser are, essentially, arranged in a common plane. With the aid of the invented apparatus, the fiber band is laid into the band entry device by a movement transverse to the normal transport direction of the fiber band when the drawing machine is running.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2000Date of Patent: January 8, 2002Assignee: Rieter Ingolstadt Spinnereimaschinebau AGInventors: Beat Näf, Lars Weisigk

Patent number: 6286188Abstract: The present invention concerns a drafting system (30) with a drive (M2) provided with a regulating device (M3, 33) for levelling out mass variations in a fiber mass (6) supplied to the drafting system by a supply source (1). The mass variations are detected by at least one measuring sensor (70) coordinated to the drafting system and the corresponding signals are transmitted to a control unit (S). A further device (11, 12, 62, 63) may be coordinated to the drafting system (30) which is suitable for detecting differences between the delivery speed of the supply source (1) and the intake speed of the drafting system (30) and apply it for influencing the base rotational speed of the drafting system or to detect long term mass variations from a predetermined desired value in which arrangement these mass deviations detected are applied for influencing the base rotational speed of the drafting system.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Christian Müller, Jürg Faas, Beat Näf, Christian Grieshammer, Theodore Götz Gresser

Patent number: 6219885Abstract: The main drum diameter (D) of a card for short staple carding is reduced. The working width preferentially is enlarged. The main drum (50) can be made from fiber reinforced synthetic material. Notwithstanding its smaller diameter, the new main drum is operated at the same or a somewhat higher circumferential speed (in comparison to a conventional card).Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Jürg Faas, Beat Näf, Olivier Wüst, Christian Sauter, Theodor Gresser Götz

Patent number: 6219886Abstract: A stretched fiber band is deposited in a can, located in the filling station of a can exchanger of a draw frame, by means of a turntable. The rotational axis of the turntable exhibits an equal to or less than distance from the rotational axis of the can exchanger than the distance from the center point of the can found in the filling station to the rotational axis of the exchanger. Upon the substitution of the filled can by an empty can held in a ready-state position, the operation of the can exchanger on the rotation of the turntable is designed in such a manner, that the fiber band is deposited into the full can exiting the filling station, until this can leaves the zone of the turntable. The fiber band is then deposited into the empty can which has been brought into the filling station II, as soon as this empty can reaches the zone of the turntable.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Rieter Ingolstadt Spinnereimaschinenbau AGInventors: Manfred Wagner, Armin Brunner, Beat Näf, Lars Weisigk

Patent number: 5685047Abstract: An apparatus for precisely orienting working elements, such as carding elements, to a rotating fiber-opening roller, such as a licker-in, with regard to both distancing and centering without necessitating complex adjustment mechanisms. The working element is precisely positioned by virtue of respective abutting engagement surfaces of the axle boxes or roller retainers and the carrier of the working elements.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1995Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Robert Demuth, Beat Naef, Werner Hirschle, Lars Weisigk

Patent number: 5471710Abstract: An apparatus for attaching working elements, such as carding elements, to a rotating fiber-opening roller, such as a licker-in, wherein the working element is attached on the axle boxes or retainers of the roller by means of an end cap at least partially encompassing the axle boxes or axle retainers.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1994Date of Patent: December 5, 1995Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Rieter AGInventors: Robert Demuth, Beat Naef, Werner Hirschle, Lars Weisigk
