    Abstract: A device and a method manipulate an inner conductor from several inner conductors at a stripped end of a sheathed cable. The device includes a manipulation device pivotable from an initial position about a pivot axis extending perpendicular to the axial direction of the cable end alignable relative to the manipulation device in a plane extending perpendicular to the cable end axis. The manipulation device includes a needle movable towards an inner conductor end in the initial position along a needle axis; and an inner conductor gripper gripping the inner conductor end. The method includes aligning the cable end relative to the manipulation device to align the needle axis with the inner conductor axis; moving the needle towards the inner conductor end, and establishing needle and inner conductor end contact; pivoting the manipulation device about the pivot axis; and gripping the inner conductor end by the inner conductor gripper.

    Abstract: An adapter plate alignment gauge system includes an adapter plate for holding a crimping tool in different positions and an alignment gauge for aligning the crimping tool in a predetermined set crimping tool position relative to the alignment gauge. The adapter plate is immovably arrangeable in a predetermined set adapter plate position in a crimping press which, in order to create a crimp connection, connects one conductor end of a cable to a crimp contact. The alignment gauge can be fastened to the adapter plate whereby the alignment gauge is arranged in a predetermined set alignment gauge position relative to the adapter plate.

When the exchange spots are in a first exchange position, a first tool is displaced from the process position to a first exchange spot along a first direction of movement, the exchange spots are linearly moved from the first exchange position into a second exchange position wherein the first tool and a second tool located on a second exchange spot move in a second direction of movement that differs from the first direction of movement, and in the second exchange position the second tool is displaced from the second exchange spot into the process position in a third direction of movement that is opposite to the first direction of movement.

The cable changer has two guide units for guiding and holding one cable each and being movable between inoperative and active positions. In the inoperative position, the guide unit is positioned outside the cable conveying device spaced from the machine axis. In the active position, the guide unit is positioned coaxially with the machine axis producing an operative connection to the cable conveying device. The guide units are movable independently of each other. When one of the guide units is moved from the inoperative position into the active position, the other guide unit remains positionally fixed in the inoperative position. When the guide units are both in their inoperative positions, they are positioned lying next to each other on a common horizontal plane.
