  • Publication number: 20120055527
Abstract: The invention relates to a structural element for thermally shielding engines or engine components, in particular a heat shield for combustion engines, the structural element having a planar extension and comprising a first side that faces a hot element of the engine, and a second side that faces away from the hot element of the engine, characterized in that the structural element comprises a thermoelectric generator, which can be used to generate electric energy from a temperature difference resulting between the first side and the second side of the structural element during operation of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20080292832
Abstract: The invention relates to a structural component in the form of a heat shield, consisting of at least two interconnected structural layers, of which one structural layer (10) has a first type of depressions (14), which is oriented in the direction of the other structural layer, and of which the other structural layer has a second type of depressions (16), which is oriented in the direction of the first structural layer (10), and which is provided at least partially with a perforation or forms the perforation itself. In that the two structural layers are located on top of one another such that the second type of depressions (16) fits at least partially between the first type of depressions (14) and in that the respective structural layer on its side facing away from the depressions (14, 16) has surface regions (30) with a closed surface, a structural component is formed which requires less installation space and still has good noise-insulating and heat-insulating properties.

  • Patent number: 7419531
Abstract: A safety system for prevention of the escape of noxious media, such as explosive gas mixtures and/or ignitable substances, has at least one interception element (10; 30) which at least partly encloses and seals off a potential escape point (12) for the medium. The medium is precipitated onto the interception element (10; 30). Once the medium has been collected, it may be removed from the interception element (10; 30). In this way, both aggressive media and fuel-laden gases may be effectively controlled by safety engineering measures.

  • Publication number: 20070131285
Abstract: A valve means for blocking and clearing a passage between the pressure chambers which can be loaded with fluid pressure, especially of a passage for exhaust gas recirculation for internal combustion engines, with at least one leaf spring element (23) which is located between a valve seat surface (25) on an insert body (21) and a support surface (15) which limits the opening motion of the leaf spring element (23) away from the valve seat surface (25) to form a flutter valve, has a carrier sheet which can be inserted between the pressure chambers and which on at least one opening (11) has at least one support surface (15) as a part bent in one piece and on the respective opening (11) has a seat (17) for a second insert body (19) which bears the pertinent leaf spring element (23) and the first insert body (21) which forms the valve seat surface (25).
