    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a wireless power delivery system including: a wireless power generation unit (GU) including: a GU antenna array; and a GU wireless communication circuit; and one or more recovery units (RUs), wherein each RU includes: an RU antenna array; and an RU wireless communication circuit. The GU antenna array is configured to use volumetric refocusing to scan the area for the one or more RUs by sweeping a wireless scan signal to be captured by the RU antenna array. The RU antenna array receives the wireless scan signal, the RU wireless communication unit is configured to transmit a wireless signal back to the GU wireless communication unit. The GU is configured to record the focal coordinates of each RU based upon the signal received by the GU from each RU. The GU is configured to emit a wireless power signal to the recorded focal coordinates of each RU.

The first board is adapted to receive a bottom portion of a rechargeable battery, and includes, in part, a ground plane, a first multitude of receptacles positioned along a perimeter of the first board, and circuitry adapted to convert a received RF signal to a DC voltage for delivery to the rechargeable battery. Each rectenna board is associated with and adapted to be inserted into a different one of the first multitude of receptacles. Each rectenna board includes, in part, a multitude of receive antennas for receiving the RF signal. The rectenna boards are adapted to enclose the rechargeable battery when the rechargeable battery is positioned over the first board. The second board is adapted to engage with the rectenna boards to cover a top portion of the rechargeable battery.

    Abstract: An RF power detector adapted to detect an RF power of an RF signal, includes, in part, an antenna adapted to receive the RF signal, a narrow-band RF power converter adapted to convert the RF signal to a DC signal, an accelerometer, and a magnetometer. The accelerometer and magnetometer are adapted to determine the orientation and location of the power detector. The power detector optionally includes a gyroscope. The narrow-band RF power converter may be a rectifier tuned to the frequency of the RF signal. The power detector optionally includes an indicator adapted to provide information representative of the amount of the DC power of the DC signal, as well as position and orientation of the power detector. The power detector may be adapted to be inserted into a mobile device so as to provide the information about the amount of DC power, orientation and position to the mobile device.

    Abstract: Wireless power transfer systems and methods for focusing wireless power transfer arrays are disclosed. One embodiment includes a wireless power generating unit (GU) including a processing system configured to focus the RF power sources by: sending control signals to the control circuitry to perform a plurality of sweeps using each of a plurality of different basis masks; receiving a message from a RU containing a report based upon received power measurements made by the RU; and sending control signals to focus the RF power sources based on the received message from the RU. Furthermore, each sweep includes performing a phase sweep across a phase sweep range at a plurality of phase step increments with respect to a first group of RF power sources identified in a basis mask, where the first group of RF power sources comprises a plurality of RF power sources.

The vector is a three-dimensional vector representative of the orientation of the plane of the phased array receivers relative to the plane of the array of transmitters transmitting the RF signal.
