  • Publication number: 20150358607
Abstract: A method of analyzing a video may include determining at least one of a fastest moving element, a slow moving element and a dominant element within a video based on a first frame of the video and a second frame of the video. The method may also include determining at least one of a foreground and a background within the video based on at least one of the fastest moving element, the slow moving element and the dominant element.

  • Publication number: 20150358609
Abstract: A method of adjusting depth in a stereoscopic video may include generating a left-eye viewing frame of a stereoscopic video. The left-eye viewing frame may include a plurality of left-eye viewing frame elements. The method may also include generating a right-eye viewing frame of the stereoscopic video. The right-eye viewing frame may correspond to the left-eye viewing frame and may include a plurality of right-eye viewing frame elements. Further, each right-eye viewing frame element may correspond to one of the left-eye viewing frame elements. The method may additionally include determining an offset between each right-eye viewing frame element and its corresponding left-eye viewing frame element. Further, the method may include applying a uniform multiplying factor to each offset such that a perceived depth associated with the stereoscopic video is adjusted on a substantially uniform scale.

Further, the method may include applying a uniform summing factor to each offset to uniformly shift by substantially the same amount each right-eye viewing frame element with respect to its corresponding left-eye viewing frame element such that a perceived focus point is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20150358608
Abstract: A method may include determining movement between a first frame of a monoscopic video and a second frame of the monoscopic video. The method may also include analyzing a camera effect based on the movement, generating a first modified frame based on the movement and the camera effect, and generating a second modified frame based on the movement and the camera effect. The method may also include generating a left-eye viewing frame of a stereoscopic video based on the camera effect and at least one of the first modified frame and the second modified frame. The method may further include generating a right-eye viewing frame of the stereoscopic video based on the camera effect and at least one of the first modified frame and the second modified frame.

Abstract: A method of generating a stereoscopic video may include determining movement between a first frame of a monoscopic video and a second frame of the monoscopic video. The method may further include analyzing a camera effect based on the movement. Additionally, the method may include generating a left-eye viewing frame of a stereoscopic video based on the camera effect analysis and generating a right-eye viewing frame of the stereoscopic video based on the camera effect analysis.

  • Patent number: 9172940
Abstract: A method for converting two-dimensional video to three-dimensional video. The method includes the steps of comparing at least part of video frame x to a corresponding at least part of video frame y to determine movement therebetween, calculating a movement direction and movement extent based on the determined movement, determining viewing frame L and viewing frame R based on the movement direction, and modifying viewing frame R based on the movement direction and the movement extent to create modified viewing frame R?. One alternative embodiment is a video display device for converting two-dimensional video to three-dimensional video. Another alternative embodiment includes one or more device-readable media storing executable instructions that, when executed, configure a video display device to convert two-dimensional video to three-dimensional video.

  • Publication number: 20140347362
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for rendering 3D images or video without significantly losing resolution or increasing the resolution. The systems and methods for 3D rendering technology can work with different types of 3D data frames that include left eye image and right eye image sub-frames. The 3D data frames render 3D imagery with side-by-side (SXS), top-and-bottom (TB), and frame packing (FP), as well as others such as full high definition 3D (FHD3D), frame sequential 3D, passive 3D rendering or the like. System and methods are provided for creating inverse pixel strips, and preparing 3D images that include the inverse pixel strips. Systems and methods are provided for expanding images in a plane without significant loss of resolution.
