The antenna system further includes a processor that receives and analyzes outputs from the one or more antenna modules and generates an output signal corresponding to the input signal, and a controller that controls states of the one or more antenna modules. A video is segmented into regions of various interest levels. A set of parameters is developed from a video region of a high interest, wherein the parameters represent a mapping function of a database to model the video region. The set of parameters is transmitted over the ultra-low bandwidth channel to a remote device, wherein the remote device also has access to an instance of the database. The remote device synthesizes the video by using the mapping function of the database, which is represented by the transmitted set of parameters.

Thus, a single FFT module can be used to transform a first type of signal (e.g., WIFI) and a second type of signal (e.g., GPS) if configured according to the technique.

This may result in an N-fold decrease in hardware in multiple antenna receiver systems.

The method may further include estimating unknown parameters, selecting a maximum likelihood path through the trellis, and mapping the maximum likelihood path to an output bit sequence. The technique is also applicable to DSPK and other applicable known or convenient protocols.

    Abstract: A modem employing feedback control coding to dynamically control signal-to-noise ratios and to identify errored codewords for retransmission. The receive path components of the modem include a signal-to-noise estimator, a feedback controller and a dynamic demapper. The signal-to-noise estimator repeatedly determines a difference between a target signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and actual SNR in communications received from an opposing modem. A feedback controller responds to each determination by the signal-to-noise controller to send to the opposing modem a set of modified transmit control parameters for reducing the difference between the target and actual SNRs. The dynamic demapper dynamically alters constellation size or power spectral density for demapping communications received from the opposing modem responsive to a change in transmission parameters thereof resulting from the modified set of transmit control parameters.
