  • Patent number: 8366495
Abstract: Appliance for connecting high-current electric apparatuses, primarily conductor bars, comprising an electrically conducting body (31) and at least one connection piece (22), where the connection piece (22) has a seat arranged to encircle the body (31) in a concentric manner. A preferably frustum-shaped retention portion having monotonic decreasing cross-sectional size is disposed on the body, the retention portion being retained in the seat by frictional connection. The retention portion has increased contact surface, and in specific cases the body (31) is adapted for receiving a cable end. The invention is essentially characterised by that the increased contact surface is constituted by indentations implemented as ribs arranged perpendicular to the axis of the body (31) and/or as grooves extending in the direction of the generator of the body (31), where the indentations undergo different amounts of local deformation along the axis of the body (31) as the appliance is pressed together.

  • Patent number: 7163820
Abstract: The invention relates to a strain suitable for producing a live, orally applicable Escherichia coli vaccine for the prevention of post-weaning diarrhoea in pigs, and the procedure suitable for producing that strain. The essence of the strain is that the enterotoxin-free and originally wild-type Escherichia coli strain simultaneously produces two adhesive fimbriae (F4 and F18), whereas the essence of the procedure is that the enterotoxin-producing ability if the wild, pathogenic, enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli strain originally capable of producing enterotoxins and F18 fimbriae is abolished by a genetic intervention while retaining the ability of the strain to produce F18 fimbria facilitating adhesion to the small intestinal wall of weaned piglets, and subsequently the strain thus modified is rendered capable of producing a further surface adhesion fimbria (F4).

  • Patent number: 5700957
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring mass flow of a fluid stream comprising inlet and outlet conduits for the fluid stream, at least one resilient flow tube having fixed mounting ends communicating with the inlet and outlet conduits, a vibrator for oscillating the flow tube transverse to the axis of the flow tube, sensors for generating signals corresponding to the oscillating motion of the flow tube and a signal processing unit for determining the mass flow from said signals on the basis of the Coriolis reaction force by the fluid against the flow tube. According to the invention the flow tube is formed as a symmetrical loop around the amount ends, said loop providing a change in the direction of flow which is greater than 360.degree., and vibrator is located on the flow tube at a point adjacent the mounting ends.Method for measuring mass flow of a fluid stream, wherein the said at least one flow tube is oscillated at a resonant frequency higher than the fundamental resonant frequency of the flow tube.

  • Patent number: 5627326
Abstract: A Coriolis type apparatus for measuring mass flow of a fluid stream, comprising at least one flow conduit which is oscillated at a resonant frequency transverse to the direction of flow while said fluid flows therethrough, two sensors for generating analog signals corresponding to the motion of the flow conduit, and signal processing means for determining time difference between said analog signal, said signal processing means including means for converting said analog signals into series of digital signals and means to compute from said series of digital signals said time difference by using Fourier transformation. Each of the analog signals generated by the sensors is converted into a series of digital signals by an incremental type analog-digital converter having a comparator, an up-down counter and a digital-analog converter.

  • Patent number: 4752063
Abstract: A vise attachment for use on a vise assembly for holding objects having irregularly-shaped surfaces, comprising a small compact housing having a plurality of blade elements disposed adjacent to each other and slidably mounted within a rectangular opening on one side of the housing and movable between an extended position and a retracted position. Each element preferably comprises a plate member having smooth planar surfaces and a concave curved back edge and stop means disposed on upper and lower edges for setting a limit for extension of the blade from the housing. A self-distributing non-resilient medium is positioned within the housing and has a predetermined volume for filling the housing when the blades are in a retracted position. A distribution and reset means causes the blades to reposition themselves to extend fully through the rectangular opening when not holding an object.

  • Patent number: 4451038
Abstract: An amusement device composed of a transparent hollow sphere and rotatable transparent discs dividing it into two hemispheres. Each hemisphere is further divided into four compartments by transluscent wall segments moveable upon the discs.A rotatable handle is further attached to the apex of the segments from outside the sphere which is able to rotate the compartments. Each disc has a round opening to permit passage of a marble and another opening to permit passage of dice and rotates freely being activated by the dice being trapped between its opening and the moveable compartment wall. The object of the invention is to tilt the sphere and align the openings in the discs by means of the dice so as to permit one to have single colored marble in a number of pre-identified compartments and dice in the pre-identified compartment after sorting the dice and marbles. Any number of marbles and dice can be in the groups as long as the groups are equal.
