  • Publication number: 20080141620
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing inflatable packaging pillows having a gas dispenser for dispensing a gas within a partially sealed inflatable pouch and an ultrasonic welding assembly comprised of a horn and an anvil for sealing the pouch after inflation of the pouch. The apparatus includes a feeding mechanism for advancing inflatable packing across the ultrasonic welding assembly. The horn preferably seals the pouch continuously without interruption of the advancement of the pouch. A method of manufacturing inflatable packaging including the steps of providing an apparatus for manufacturing inflatable packaging pillows, inflating a pillow, and sealing the pillow using ultrasonic energy. An ultrasonically sealable inflatable packing cushion made of a polymer film web having two layers bonded together at a wall that defines an unsealed pocket. The packing cushion is readily weldable to itself at the unsealed portion of the pocket through the application of ultrasonic energy.

  • Patent number: 5200085
Abstract: According to the process the sludge is homogenized and heated to 30.degree.-60.degree. C. temperature. The heated sludge is circulated under 2-4 bar overpressure, and its temperature is raised to about 130.degree.-150.degree. C. in 1-2 sec by conducting steam of 130.degree.-151.degree. C. and 2-4 bar pressure directly into the sludge, thus granulation is brought about in the sludge. The sludge of increased temperature--while its temperature and pressure maintained--is further circulated for about 60-300 sec. Then, the sludge is adiabatically expanded in 1-2 sec by reducing the pressure to about 0.01-0.02 bar. The expanded sludge is separated to water, fat containing water and solid impurity and wet solid phase containing protein. It is characteristic to the apparatus that it is provided with device for heating the sludge, and pipe (18) for passing on the heated sludge connected with the heating unit (5) where an expansion valve is built in.

  • Patent number: 4816142
Abstract: According to the invention, the grains of the hydrate slurry are separated by sedimentation where the dispersed bubbles of air are removed in course of the presizing, then a supplementary sizing is carried out. Preferably, a liquid free from hydrate grains is fed in to stream against the sinking grains. This liquid is advantageously the spent liquor of the hydrate filter. The apparatus according to the invention consists of a container with conical bottom, a feeding device, a slurry outlet stub and an overflow channel. The inlet stubs of the feeding device, however, are placed off-center and every stub is connected with a presizing equipment. This equipment is composed of a bundle of pipes and/or a pack of plates which are slop placed to geometrical axis: At the upper part of the presizing equipment there is a foam overflow apparatus. The bottom of each presizing equipment is connected with a common cone-frustum type deflector casing. The casing is concentric with the container.

  • Patent number: 4745273
Abstract: Method for luminosity measuring advantageously in TLD evaluation equipment in the course of which a photomultiplier current is made proportional with light intensity and the current is measured; and sensitivity control of photomultiplier is conducted by varying its supply voltage if the current is above a given level. The change is stored. The measurement is conducted in analog or digital form. Circuit arrangement to implement the procedure has a photomultiplier tube (11), high voltage power supply and level sensor, the input of the photomultiplier tube being connected to the output of the high voltage power supply, the output of the tube being connected to the input of the level sensor. A control unit (14) is provided, whose input is connected to the output of the level sensor (12), and its output is connected to the input of the high voltage power supply.

  • Patent number: 4694208
Abstract: Circuit arrangement intended for evaluating currents of 7 or 8 orders of magnitude, particularly in thermoluminescent dosemeter (TLD) evaluation equipment, which comprises a digital gate (12) with a feedback tag (13) and a charging capacitor (11) connected to the input of the digital gate (12). The other terminal of the charging capacitor (11) is connected to a stable voltage line, practically to ground. For varying the time constant the circuit arrangement has at least one control capacitor (14a to 14n) connected serially with corresponding electronic switches (15a to 15n). The other terminal of the control capacitors (14a to 14n) are connected to the input of the digital gate, through the input line (b) of the circuit arrangement. The switching inputs of the electronic switches are connected to control lines (v1 to vn), while other terminals of them are connected to stabilized voltage lines (e1 to en).

  • Patent number: 4539111
Abstract: Process for the extraction of solids from liquids containing solids granulated by heat effect and/or solids the moisture content of which is reducible by heat effect, especially from colloidal solutions with protein content, suspensions and slurries for reducing the fat content of the solid material, in the course of this process grains are formed in the liquid with heat effect, or the moisture content of the grains is reduced, then they are removed from the liquids and dried. The equipment for implementation of the process is also subject of the invention. The process is characterized by heating the liquid to 50.degree.-125.degree. C. temperature with heat transfer ("instant heating ") for a short period, maximum for 2 minutes, then the heated material is kept at 50.degree.-125.degree. C. temperature for at least 2, preferably for 5-15 minutes. This is followed by separation of the grains from the liquid phase with filtration in a space containing vapor of 50.degree.-125.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4534782
Abstract: The invention relates to a new method for increasing the biological value of manures, dung-waters, organic wastes and/or soils rich in lysine. According to the invention manure, dung-water, an organic waste and/or soil rich in lysine, either of natural composition or supplemented with lysine, a lysine source and/or one or more agricultural chemical(s), is treated with at least 0.01 mole of formaldehyde or an equivalent amount of a formaldehyde source, calculated for one mole of free or bound lysine present. The treatment according to the invention results in a significant increase of plant growth and crop yield.

  • Patent number: 4276701
Abstract: A drier, especially for viscous materials, comprises a double-wall cylindrical vessel which is heated and to which the material to be dried is fed at one end with the dried material being removed at the opposite end. A drying gas inlet is connected to the drying chamber to pass the drying gas in counterflow or uniflow with the material and a shaft is rotatable along the axis of the chamber and carries adjustable disks with alternately inner and outer openings so that the material path through the vessel is deflected toward and away from the axis as the material passes successively through adjustable-length cells between these disks. All of the disks carry blades which scrape the material from the heated wall from the vessel and at least some of the disks carry rollers of predetermined spacing from this wall to adjust the particle size of the dried product.
