  • Patent number: 7131934
Abstract: In a basic configuration, the present system includes an adjustable top portion or platform, one or more lower portions or risers and one or more resilient members placed between the riser and the platform. Preferably the resilient members have a sufficient height to space the platform slightly above the riser, and the resilient members are partially compressible to absorb the impact when a user steps atop the platform. In preferred embodiments, the platform and/or riser include a variety of locations in which the resilient member or members may be placed or arranged to provide various levels of cushioning and/or balancing of the platform over the riser. Preferably the multi-exercise system can be used as a standard horizontal platform, as an angled platform, as a balancing platform, or a resilient member-mounting riser for aerobic exercises, stretching, yoga, balancing or exercises exercising the sole or arch of a foot.

  • Patent number: 6916258
Abstract: In preferred features, table tennis tables of the present invention include a caster base assembly which improves the ease of use and stability of the table tennis table. Preferably the table includes two caster base members adjacent opposing sides of the table. Each caster base member is preferably formed from a substantially horizontal elongate piece, preferably tubular, having two opposing end portions and a middle portion. Extending downward and mounted adjacent each opposing end is a caster which typically rests upon a support surface. The middle portion of the base member preferably has a lower height than the opposing end portions. When the table is assembled, the leg structure for a table portion of the table tennis table is attached to the base member adjacent an end portion. A cross-member may optionally be attached between the base members.

  • Patent number: 6446963
Abstract: An improved table soccer playing figure wherein the foot portion thereof is formed of a flexible material such as polyesopreme, polyeurathane or hard rubber. A metal support rod couples the foot portion to the body portion and provides strength and support to the foot. allowing the player to deliver impact to the ball without losing energy because of the foot flexibility. A weight is added to the figure head portion to balance the playing figure symmetrically around the support rod.

  • Patent number: 6419596
Abstract: A portable basketball unit comprising a hoop, backboard and pole having a base portion. The base portion is modified so that a brace system can be secured thereto. Auger screws are secured to the brace system and driven into the ground. The base unit is attached to the auger screws and a leveling collar and adjustment leveler is used to cause the pole to be substantially vertical. The attachment members are then tightened and the middle and upper portions are attached, the basketball unit being ready for play.

  • Patent number: 5816957
Abstract: A collapsible tennis table having first and second table portions and a lower pair of parallel frame members having wheels or casters thereon. The parallel members are connected together by a elongated member, the elongated member being connected to the parallel frame members by wing nuts and bolts. Also mounted to the outside edge of both frame members are bracket members having shortened tubular members extending therefrom at a predetermined angle. Each table portion has a pair of leg extensions attached to the bottom surface thereof and a pair of brackets supporting a U-shaped tubular member. A pair of clip members are fastened to the bottom surface of each table portion and the leg portions of the U-shaped tubular member are positioned therein. In order to assemble the collapsible table of the present invention, the ends of the U-shaped tubular members are positioned in their corresponding shortened tubular members extending from the frame member brackets.

  • Patent number: 5071120
Abstract: A collapsible basketball apparatus which includes a backboard and a basketball hoop mounted to the backboard. The hoop is mounted to the backboard to be pivotable, via a release mechanism, about a horizontal axis parallel with the backboard between a first, horizontal position and a second, downwardly displaced position. In a first embodiment, a plurality of curved springs are positioned in the release mechanism and mounted in a manner such that when a predetermined force is applied to the hoop, the compressive (restraining) force of the springs is exceeded and the hoop moves to the second position. When the force is released, the spring moves back to its original or horizontal position. In a second embodiment, a pin inclined slot and spring arrangement is utilized as the release mechanism to move the hoop to the second position when the predetermined force is applied to the hoop and to return the hoop to the horizontal position when the force is removed.

  • Patent number: 5067728
Abstract: A lawn dart having front and rear portions, the front portion comprising a cylindrically shaped, hollow member fabricated from a flexible material, such as plastic. An elongated flexible tip in first, second and third embodiments is formed as a part of the hollow member, and in a fourth embodiment, is a second component coupled to the hollow member, the flexible tip absorbing and dissipating the energy of impact. A material to provide weight stability to the dart is positioned in the hollow portion of the cylindrical member. In the preferred embodiments, air cushions within the hollow portion act with the flexible tip to enhance the absorption and dissipation of the impact energy. The rear portion of the dart is in the preferred embodiments, permanently secured to the front portion.A target member, comprising a closed ended member, having netting attached thereto, is anchored to the ground and supported thereabove by a plurality of anchor members.

  • Patent number: 4798381
Abstract: Basketball goal height adjustment apparatus comprising a three dimensional parallelogram having nominally parallel but adjustable parallelogram bars. A mounting member is secured to the rear surface of the basketball backboard and coupled to a frame to which the parallelogram bars are also attached. A notched bracket member is secured to the mounting member and a bifurcated member, one end of the bifurcated member including a spring loaded pin which is operatively biased into engagement with a selected one of said notches, each notch corresponding to a predetermined vertical height of the goal. A device for visually indicating the height of the goal is also provided. To adjust the goal height, the bifurcated member (or the backboard) is pushed such that the pin moves away from the notch.
