  • Publication number: 20110002413
Abstract: A methodology for transmitter identification for a single frequency network is provided using a single CW tone. The tone can be transmitted outside the transmitter's active band. It is possible to arrive at significant overlap between the tone coverage area and the coverage area of a neighboring transmitter without disturbing the operations by picking the tone location and power appropriately.

  • Patent number: 7535929
Abstract: To avoid lost packets that could otherwise occur were a round robin scheduling policy to be used to assign PPP packet fragments to multiple communication links, the links are assigned tokens based on their capacities, with a fragment being assigned to the link with the most tokens. When a fragment is scheduled to a link, the tokens of the link are decremented accordingly. The tokens are periodically refreshed.

  • Publication number: 20080159278
Abstract: Multiplexer to transmitter interface protocol. A method for a data interface protocol is provided that includes receiving a first packet stream having at least one overhead information symbol (OIS) group and at least one multicast logical channel (MLC) group, and mapping each OIS group to an OIS descriptor packet and at least one OIS payload packet. The method also includes mapping each MLC group to an MLC descriptor packet and at least one MLC payload packet, and outputting the OIS descriptor, OIS payload, MLC descriptor, and MLC payload packets in a second packet stream. An apparatus includes input logic to receive the first packet stream, processing logic to map each OIS group to an OIS descriptor packet an OIS payload packet, and each MLC group to an MLC descriptor packet and an MLC payload packet, and output logic to output the mapped packets in a second packet stream.

  • Patent number: 7127655
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to optimize delivery of multicast content using probabilistic feedback. A method is provided for transmitting data from a server to a plurality of receiving terminals. The method includes transmitting the data from the server to the plurality of receiving terminals, and generating a random response value at each receiving terminal. The method also includes comparing the response value to an acknowledgement value at each receiving terminal, and transmitting an acknowledgment signal to the server from selected receiving terminals. The selected receiving terminals are a portion of the plurality of receiving terminals where the response value has a selected relationship to the acknowledgement value.
