    Abstract: A feed trough for an electric arc furnace includes first and second arcuate plates, each arcuate plate having opposing first and second end edges and opposing first and second side edges. The first and second end edges include an arcuate contour, and the first and second end edges of the first and second arcuate plates are attached and first and second side edges of the first and second arcuate plates are attached. A channel is disposed between the first and second end edges, first and second side edges, and inner surfaces of the first and second arcuate plates, The channel includes at least one serpentine flow path and at least one perimeter flow path, the at least one serpentine flow path is disposed toward a midline of the feed trough and the at least one perimeter flow path is disposed outwardly of the at least one serpentine flow path.
