Patent number: 10963932Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to methods, systems, devices and computer-readable media. In embodiments of the invention, a user is authenticated using an authentication process that is capable of authenticating a user using an inline authentication form that can authenticate a consumer without transferring a session maintained by a merchant. The inline authentication form is used if the components of the authentication system are capable of supporting an inline authentication form. If the components of the system cannot support an inline authentication form, a different authentication process is used. In one embodiment, an inline authentication form is presented to the user asynchronously. This inline authentication form may be presented within an iFrame embedded in a merchant's checkout page after verifying that the components to be used during the authentication can support the inline authentication form.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2018Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: Visa International Service AssociationInventors: Ben Dominguez, Douglas Fisher, Julie Chan

Publication number: 20130073463Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to an authentication platform capable of storing authentication data received from an issuer access control server. The authentication platform can authenticate users and portable devices, on behalf of the issuer access control server, using the stored authentication data. Messaging extensions are included in transaction messaging indicating the authentication platform's status as an issuer trusted party, allowing the issuer access control server computer to rely on the authentication platform to conduct authentication processing.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2012Publication date: March 21, 2013Inventors: James Dimmick, Ben Dominguez

Publication number: 20110191247Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating parties involved in a transaction are disclosed. Some embodiments of the disclosure are directed to systems and methods for authenticating various identification attributes of a participant in a transaction. The attributes can include items such as the participant's name, address, social security number, date of birth, or any other identifying attributes. In some embodiments, all participants in a transaction may have identification information authenticated. The 3-D Secure protocol and framework is extended and enhanced to provide the ability to authenticate the identification details of participants in transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2011Publication date: August 4, 2011Inventors: Ben Dominguez, Jagdeep Sahota, Thanigaivel Ashwin Raj

Patent number: 6589147Abstract: A former whose wing component incorporates periodic openings, a tube component (that may, or may not, incorporate periodic openings) and a base component (that is shaped to conform substantially to the former's tube geometry) is described. Such a former, may be significantly less heavy than prior art formers (for a given size package) while simultaneously providing improved performance and durability. A former assembly that includes the former, a cross-bar, a top-plate and spacers is also described. Each of the cross-bar, top-plate and spacers may use aluminum and/or incorporate hollowed pockets to further reduce the assemblies weight.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2001Date of Patent: July 8, 2003Assignee: J & F Business, Inc.Inventors: John Dominguez, Jr., John Dominguez, III, Ben Dominguez, Kenneth Dishon

Patent number: 4766716Abstract: An adjustable guide roller assembly installed on the tube forming apparatus of form-fill-seal packaging machines of the type having a tube former and depending tubular fill pipe through which quantities of product are passed and over which a strip of packaging material is pulled to progressively form the material into a depending and upwardly open tubular configuration and subsequently sealed to form product bearing packages. The adjustable guide roller assembly is removably mounted on the back of the tube former adjacent the curved shaping portion which receives the strip material and is pivotally and horizontally movable relative thereto to receive and adjustably position the strip material thereon. The guide roller member of the assembly is capable of being pivotally raised above the top of the lowermost surface of the shaping portion of the former to clear the machine framework supporting the former allowing it to be removed horizontally outward from the packaging machine.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1987Date of Patent: August 30, 1988Assignee: Formers of Houston, Inc.Inventor: Ben Dominguez

Patent number: 4711068Abstract: Wear strips removably installed on the tube forming apparatus of form-fill-seal packaging machines of the type having a tube former and depending tubular fill pipe through which quantities of product are passed and over which a strip of packaging material is pulled by transfer belts to progressively form the material into a depending and upwardly open tubular configuration and subsequently sealed to form product bearing packages. The wear strips comprise a pair of circumferentially spaced rectangular members removably attached to the fill pipe adjacent the transfer belts to receive substantially the full frictional wearing force caused by the transfer belts pressing and moving the packaging material against the fill pipe. The outer surface of the wear strips are configured to substantially reduce the contact surface area and the resulting wearing of the transfer belt and thus reduce the frequency of replacement and repair of the belts.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1986Date of Patent: December 8, 1987Assignee: Formers of Houston, Inc.Inventor: Ben Dominguez
