  • Publication number: 20240127124
Abstract: Disclosed examples including generating a joint model based on first and second subject models, the first and second subject models selected based on a relationship between the first and second subject models; selecting the joint model from a plurality of joint models after a determination that entropy data points of the joint model satisfy a threshold, the entropy data points based on multiple tuning trials of the joint model; and providing tuning data associated with the joint model to a tuning session of a target model.

  • Publication number: 20230346440
Abstract: A smart medical device includes a structure configured to be at least partially implanted in a body, and an electronics cartridge that is configured to be inserted into the structure after the structure is implanted in the body. The structure may be a cannulated screw for use in treating bone fractures. The medical device includes an impedance sensor for monitoring and reporting on the healing state of bone fractures. The sensor includes components of the electronics cartridge and electrodes that are either associated with the cannulated screw or with the insertable electronics cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20210092933
Abstract: The present invention relates to new methods of selecting and breeding organisms, in particular organisms which exhibit symbiotic behaviour with symbionts, and to new organisms and symbiota developed thereby, such as plant or grass and endophyte symbiota. Multiple symbionts are deployed in multiple organsims and selected for improved symbiotic compatibility and performance early in the breeding process. Methods include producing improved organisms from germplasm, by inoculating host organism germplasm libraries with symbionts seleced from symbiont libraries and selecting improved host organisms exhibiting desired symbiota characteristics, and selection of organism-symbiont associations with a desired genetic and metabolic profile by metagenomic analysis of nucleic acid libraries from an organism or organism-symbiont.

  • Publication number: 20190226035
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for estimating the breeding value of individuals in populations such as those having small effective population size (Ne) e.g., to identify selection candidates having high breeding values, wherein the methods comprise inferring one or more genotypes for one or more markers at a locus or QTL to be the same as for an ancestor or founder or a subset of ancestors and/or founders from which a corresponding chromosome segment is derived and estimating the breeding value of the individual based on the inferred genotype(s).
