  • Publication number: 20260269586
Abstract: An electrical junction box or other enclosure includes a base, a lid, and fasteners that permit the enclosure to be closed by manual force and opened using a tool such as a screwdriver or blade. The base includes a bottom wall and side walls defining an interior region for housing electrical or other components. The fasteners extend from or through the lid into a channel formed in the side walls of the base. A flexible member deflects as the fastener is advanced past a rigid member when fully inserted to retain the fastener in the channel and to apply a compressive force between the base and the lid. Rotation of the fastener with a tool aligns the flexible member with a gap in the rigid member, allowing the fastener to be withdrawn and the enclosure to be opened.

  • Publication number: 20250253632
Abstract: Junction boxes suitable for mounting on exterior surfaces of buildings or other structures are injection molded or otherwise formed to include a housing and lid that are rigidly held together to protect wiring, fluid or other connections within an interior region of the box. The housing and lid may be held together using integrally-formed retention structures. Additional features can provide resistance to water or debris, as well as improved installation and retention of the box relative to the mounting surface. Junction boxes may also include an integrally-formed flashing for mounting on shingle or tile roofs, or similar structures.
