  • Patent number: 10988289
Abstract: A child-resistant closure device for a rigid plastic container having a tapered neck section and method of manufacture. The device has a substantially circular neck and inner lid surface. The neck includes anchors which engage with nodes on the inner lid surface. The tapered section of the neck acts as a spring engaging the nodes with the anchors. The closure device may be engaged by rotating the lid in relation to the neck. To disengage the closure device a simultaneous downward and rotational force must be applied. The lid and the container, including the closure, can be blow molded at the same time or separately.

  • Patent number: 9595815
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for a pocket junction box system. In an example, a pocket junction box is configured to fit inside a meter collar. The pocket junction box includes a first set of electrical terminals on a rear surface of the pocket junction box for interfacing with wire leads inside the meter collar, and a second set of electrical terminals on a front surface of the pocket junction box for interfacing with field wire leads outside the meter collar. The pocket junction box may further include at least one current transducer and at least one microprocessor for monitoring the power flow through the pocket junction box. A front casing is attached to the front surface of the pocket junction box and connected to the second set of electrical terminals. The front casing may include a communications circuit board for communicating with a meter data management system.

  • Publication number: 20050112471
Abstract: A nickel-zinc electrochemical cell is disclosed using a polymer matrix separator. The polymer matrix separator includes a polymerization product of one or more monomers selected from the group of water-soluble, ethylenically-unsaturated acids and acid derivatives, and a crosslinking agent, and serves as a primary or supplemental source of electrolyte ionic species for the electrochemistry. Ionic species is contained as a solution phase within the polymer matrix membrane, allowing it to behave as a liquid electrolyte without the disadvantages. In secondary batteries (i.e., rechargeable), polymer matrix membranes are particularly useful as both an electrolyte reservoir and as a dendrite resistant separator between the charging electrode and the zinc electrode. The polymer matrix membrane protects the electrodes from corrosion and prevents zinc oxidation product from the zinc electrode to contaminate the electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 6789383
Abstract: A chain for carrying hose or cable, typically in an underground mine. The chain includes interconnected links. Each link includes a top wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of laterally opposed side wall. Each side wall has a pair of pivot connectors for articulated interconnection of the link with an adjoining link of the chain. The top and/or bottom walls can be detached from the side walls in a direction away from each other to provide access to a cable/hose receiving passage bound by all four walls.

  • Patent number: 6045797
Abstract: A method for treatment of a disease or condition in an organism characterized by an abnormal level of interaction between a BLM domain and its natural binding partner is described. The disease or condition may also be characterized by an abnormality in a signal transduction pathway, wherein the pathway contains a protein with a BLM domain. The method includes disrupting or promoting that interaction (or signal) in vivo. The method also involves inhibiting the activity of the complex formed between the BLM domain-containing protein and its natural binding partner. A method for diagnosis of such a disease or condition by detecting the level of such interaction as an indication of that disease or condition is also described. Also, a method for screening for an agent useful for treatment of such a disease or condition by assaying potential agents for the ability to disrupt or promote that interaction is described.
