Publication number: 20230399067Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a motor, a battery, and a key interface. The frame includes a head tube, a down tube coupled to the head tube, a central hub coupled to an end of the down tube opposite the head tube and defining an internal cavity, and a mount positioned at least partially directly underneath the internal cavity. The motor is coupled to the mount such that the motor is positioned at least partially underneath the internal cavity. The battery extends at least partially into the internal cavity of the central hub and positioned at least partially directly above the motor. The battery is configured to power the motor. The key interface is supported by the mount. Engaging the key interface releases the battery to facilitate removing the battery from the frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2023Publication date: December 14, 2023Applicant: Serial 1 Cycle Company, LLCInventors: Benjamin Raymond Bass, Ben M. Patent number: 11787489Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a storage compartment, a battery pack, a pedal assist unit, and a lighting system. The frame includes a head tube, a stem, a down tube, a central hub, and a pair of chain stays. The central hub defines an internal cavity. The down tube and the central hub cooperatively define a battery opening connected to the internal cavity. The storage compartment includes a door positioned to selectively enclose an opening in the down tube. The battery pack is releasably received by the battery opening. The pedal assist unit is disposed within the internal cavity. The lighting system includes one or more taillights integrated into the chain stays, a conspicuity lamp integrated into the head tube, and/or a headlight integrated into to at least one of the stem or the head tube.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2020Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: SERIAL 1 CYCLE COMPANY, LLCInventors: Benjamin Raymond Bass, Ben M. Publication number: 20230242197Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a cover, a door, a first key interface, and a second key interface. The frame defines a cavity, a first opening providing access to the cavity, an interior compartment, and a second opening providing access to the interior compartment. The cover extends across the first opening. The door extends across the second opening. The first key interface is positioned along the frame proximate the first opening. Turning a key in the first key interface releases at least a portion of the cover from the frame. The second key interface is positioned along the frame proximate the second opening. Turning a key in the second key interface releases at least a portion of the door from the frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2023Publication date: August 3, 2023Applicant: Serial 1 Cycle Company, LLCInventors: Benjamin Raymond Bass, Ben M. Lund, Andrew Schmidt

Patent number: 11654990Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a motor, a battery, a key interface, a crank set, and a shell. The frame defines a cavity and an opening providing access to the cavity. The motor is coupled to frame beneath the cavity. The battery extends at least partially into the frame. The battery is configured to power the motor. The key interface is positioned along an exterior of the frame. Turning a key in the key interface releases the battery to facilitate removing the battery from the frame. The crank set is coupled to the motor. The crank set includes crank arms. The shell extends at least partially over the opening.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2022Date of Patent: May 23, 2023Assignee: SERIAL 1 CYCLE COMPANY, LLCInventors: Benjamin Raymond Bass, Ben M.
