  • Publication number: 20060092147
Abstract: A technique includes applying a first pulse encoding scheme to a first group of bits of a digital value and applying a second pulse encoding scheme different from the first pulse encoding scheme to a second group of bits of the digital value. The technique includes combining sequences generated by the first and second pulse encoding schemes to derive a display device.

  • Publication number: 20050094246
Abstract: An apparatus includes a mirror array to form a projected image that includes pixels. The apparatus also includes a circuit to, for each pixel, control the mirror array to selectively combine reflected light from at least two mirrors of the array to regulate an intensity of the pixel.

  • Patent number: 6647389
Abstract: An automated method for periodically evaluating media streams on a network of computers. The invention is used to determine the availability of various media streams and identify various characteristics of each stream. By repeatedly obtaining the addresses, attempting to establish communication with each media stream, and then reporting the results the system can verify that each media stream is accessible and report various characteristics of the stream.

  • Patent number: 6525714
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a computer pointing device having an annular rotating ring that is rotatable by a user to control the movement of a cursor on a computer screen. The annular rotating ring is preferably implemented around a trackball to facilitate the ease of use by the user. The annular rotating ring is made up of three constituent rings, namely, a finger ring, a bearing ring, and a shutter ring. The three constituent rings are constructed in such a way that they are interlocked to eliminate any unnecessary movement or slop during use.

  • Patent number: 5079440
Abstract: A circuit for generating two clock pulse trains of opposite polarity to one another each at a frequency of a single input clock pulse train including a flip-flop for providing the two output clock pulse trains, apparatus for placing the flip-flop in a first condition in response to the input clock pulse train, apparatus for producing signals for placing the flip flop in a second condition in response to the input clock pulse train after a first delay, apparatus for producing signals after a second delay in response to the first delayed signals, apparatus for equating the delays so that the first half of each clock pulse is the same length as the second half, and apparatus for comparing the input pulse train to the pulse trains produced to increase the frequency of the output trains produced responsive to the detection of a subharmonic of the input frequency.
