    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an image compression apparatus, an image compression method. The apparatus comprises: an image division module configured to divide a target image into one or more macro blocks; a macro block partitioning module configured to partition each of the macro blocks; a component determination module configured to determine, for each partition, a first component and a second component in each color channel; a color index determination module configured to determine, for each pixel, a color index of the pixel in a corresponding partition according to the first component and the second component; and a compressed code stream obtaining module configured to obtain a preset image compression ratio, and compress the macro block according to the number of partitions of the macro block, the first component and the second component and color indexes of all pixels to obtain a compressed code stream.

The method comprises: acquiring a plurality of macroblocks of an image; determining the sub-region(s) of each one of the plurality of macroblocks and a partition color of each macroblock; determining a data compression format corresponding to each macroblock according to pixels in the sub-region(s) of each macroblock and the partition color of each macroblock; and compressing each macroblock based on the data compression format corresponding to each macroblock, and determining the compressed data corresponding to each macroblock. In the embodiments of the present disclosure, while ensuring the image compression efficiency, the image compression format is simplified, the image compression accuracy is guaranteed, and the over drive distortion caused by image compression is reduced.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device, a method and a program for processing an image. The device for processing the image includes: a data processing unit configured to obtain an original image, to downsample the original image at a first sub-rate to obtain a transitional image, and to downsample the transitional image at a second sub-rate to obtain a target image. The first sub-rate and the second sub-rate are obtained by dividing a downsampling rate of the original image, and a product of the first sub-rate and the second sub-rate is equal to the downsampling rate. The device, the method and the program for processing the image not only can better retain texture information of the original image in the process of downsampling the original image, but also can cause the change of detail textures in the image to be continuous in the process of continuous change of the sampling rate, thereby improving a display effect of an filtered image.
