Abstract: This application provides a control method and a control apparatus for a display device, and the display device corresponding thereto. The control method includes: selecting, according to a data format of an acquired video signal, extended display identification data EDID information matching with the data format; and controlling the display device to display the video signal in a corresponding data format according to the selected EDID information. With the control method, control apparatus, and the display device according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, it is possible to select, according to a data format of a signal inputted from the source device or a data format inputted by the user, matching EDID data, so as to be used by the display device when displaying the video signal.

The method and the box according to embodiments of the present disclosure can adjust the backlight brightness of a television by interaction between a box and the television based on the user's need.

Abstract: The present invention provides a backlight control method, a backlight control device and a display apparatus. The backlight control method comprises steps of: acquiring a backlight information and writing the backlight information into a backlight register of system on chip; obtaining a backlight adjusting data based on the backlight information in the backlight register; sending the backlight adjusting data to a backlight control register of a field-programmable gate array, so that the backlight control register obtains a corresponding backlight control register value based on the backlight adjusting data; and adjusting backlight according to the backlight control register value. By correlating backlight option function in the system on chip (SOC) with the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) panel, the users can accomplish the control of the displayed backlight through the menus displayed on the display apparatus. This improves the using experience of the users.
