  • Patent number: 11773929
Abstract: A brake dust particle filter for a disc brake assembly is provided to catch particles generated during braking. The brake dust particle filter has a ring segment-shaped housing with two axially spaced apart housing side walls and a radially outwardly positioned housing peripheral wall. The housing peripheral wall is arranged between the housing side walls. The housing accommodates the brake disc in the housing interior. A tongue projects inwardly away from the housing peripheral wall in the housing interior. The tongue projects at least in sections with a radial component and has a flat cross section with a base surface facing the housing peripheral wall, an end face projecting into the housing interior, and a side face. The tongue is formed by a filter medium and has no supporting device components separate from the filter medium. The filter medium provides a satisfactory stiffness keeping the tongue structurally stiff.

  • Publication number: 20230272828
Abstract: A disk brake device for a vehicle, that includes an internally-ventilated or solid brake disk. The internally-vented brake disk is configured having ventilation openings on the vehicle side, on the radial inside in the region of a brake disk chamber, which ventilation openings are fluidically connected to cooling channels in the interior of the brake disk. The solid brake disk is configured without such ventilation openings and with cooling channels. A brake caliper fitting is configured over the brake disk with a brake pad arranged on both sides of the brake disk. The brake disk device is configured with a brake dust filter housing that encompasses the brake disk on the radial outside and is arranged downstream of the brake caliper, together with the brake pads. The disk brake device has at least one means for forced guidance of brake dust.

  • Publication number: 20230095945
Abstract: A brake caliper support for a brake caliper of a disc brake assembly with a brake disc has a brake caliper support bracket provided with at least two fastening sections for connecting the brake caliper support to a steering knuckle of a vehicle. The brake caliper support bracket in a mounted state at the vehicle is positioned opposite a brake disc friction surface of the brake disc. A brake caliper support bridge projects away from the brake caliper support bracket in axial direction of the brake disc and circumferentially surrounds the brake disc at least partially in the mounted state. An arc-shaped air guiding element is disposed at the brake caliper support bracket. The air guiding element is positioned axially opposite the brake disc friction surface of the brake disc in the mounted state. The air guiding element is a protrusion or a recess extending axially, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20230086116
Abstract: A brake caliper device for a disc brake assembly with a brake disc has a brake caliper support to be arranged stationarily relative to a vehicle. A brake caliper for holding at least one brake pad is provided, wherein the brake caliper can slide relative to the brake caliper support in an axial direction. A seal device is provided that seals a gap formed between the brake caliper and the brake caliper support. The seal device extends in the axial direction. The seal device has a brush, a sealing lip, and/or a loose sealing material projecting away from the brake caliper support in a direction toward the oppositely positioned brake caliper and/or projecting away from the brake caliper in a direction toward the oppositely positioned brake caliper support.

  • Publication number: 20230035373
Abstract: A brake dust particle filter for a disc brake assembly is provided with a housing that has a first housing side wall, a second housing side wall, and a housing circumferential wall, wherein the housing circumferential wall extends between the first housing side wall and the second housing side wall. A filter insert with a filter medium is arranged in the housing and extends along one of the first and second housing side walls and along the housing circumferential wall. The filter insert has a curved circumferential edge. The housing has a curved receiving groove. The curved circumferential edge engages the curved receiving groove. The filter insert is L-shaped and is configured to at least partially cover a friction surface and a circumferential surface of a brake disc of the disc brake assembly. The curved circumferential edge of the filter insert projects past the filter medium.

  • Publication number: 20220397168
Abstract: A brake dust particle filter for a disc brake assembly with brake disc and brake caliper has a filter housing with opposed first and second side walls, a circumferential wall section extending at least partially circumferentially, and an end wall. The first and second side walls are connected to each other by the circumferential wall section and/or by the end wall. A filter housing interior extends from a side of the filter housing facing the brake caliper along the first and second side walls and the circumferential wall section to the end wall. An air-permeable filter wall arranged in the filter housing interior has a filter wall circumferential section that is radially spaced from the circumferential wall section and divides the filter housing interior into a raw air side and a clean air side. The clean air side extends between filter wall circumferential section and first circumferential wall section.

  • Publication number: 20220252118
Abstract: A brake dust particle filter assembly has a brake dust particle filter with a ring segment-shaped housing receiving a brake disc of the disc brake assembly. The housing has two axially spaced apart housing sidewalls and a housing circumferential wall between the housing sidewalls. A filter element is arranged in the housing. A holding component that holds the brake dust particle filter in installed position is stationary relative to the disc brake assembly. Holding component and housing are fixed to each other directly by mutual engagement in the installed position, at least in relation to an angular position and/or a radial position of holding component and housing relative to each other. The mutual engagement is by form fit of a male connection geometry with a corresponding female connection geometry. The male connection geometry is provided at the holding component and the female connection geometry at the housing, or vice versa.
