  • Publication number: 20100270752
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for two relatively movable first and second parts and including a sealing ring positioned in a groove on one of the parts for sealing contact against the other one of the parts, so as to separate a first side of the sealing ring from a second side of the sealing ring, wherein the sealing ring is positioned in a sealing ring seat formed as a groove in the circumference of one of the parts, including liquid supply means for supplying liquid under pressure to the second side of the sealing ring, and means for balancing the pressure of the supplied liquid in the region of the sealing ring, whereby forces on the sealing ring resulting from the pressure prevailing on the first side of the sealing ring are counteracted and balanced in such a way that in operation the sealing ring is essentially free-floating in the groove. The invention also concerns a reciprocating piston device including such a sealing arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6231322
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device producing beverages in a beverage making machine, wherein inside a pressure vessel (2) water is stored, carbonated and possibly chilled under pressure and wherein water intended to be fed into the pressure vessel is subjected to an increase of pressure in a water inlet circuit between a feed water intake (11, 12) and the pressure vessel (2). The invention is distinguished in that carbonated water which is discharged from the pressure vessel (2) in a water outlet circuit (10, 11, 12) is subjected to a controlled pressure reduction or decompression in order to counteract excessive loss of carbon dioxide which is dissolved in the water by supplying it to a pressure transfer device so that the pressure of this water together with the pressure in incoming (11, 12) feed water is used to obtain said increased pressure. The invention prevents excessive loss of carbon dioxide which is dissolved in the water.

  • Patent number: 5749233
Abstract: In a method and a device for cooling and carbonating a liquid (20), carbon dioxide intended for carbonating is also used for cooling, the carbon dioxide being brought to expand in a room (4; 7) which is separate from the liquid (20) but which is thermally connected to the liquid. By the invention it is achieved that an ice bank is formed in the liquid in the area which is adjacent to said expansion room (4; 7) whereby is achieved i.a. better cooling control than in previously known devices where the carbon dioxide also is used for cooling.

  • Patent number: 5231851
Abstract: In a method for simultaneously carbonating and cooling liquid carbon dioxide under high pressure which is introduced under the liquid surface and is allowed to expand and dissolve in the liquid. Carbon dioxide not dissolved in the liquid is re-introduced under the liquid surface through a compressor and a cooler. A device for carrying out the method includes a closed vessel (1), a liquid inlet (2) opening into the vessel, a carbon dioxide inlet (12) opening into the vessel (1) under the liquid surface, a discharge conduit (5) for carbonated vessel, and, leading from the vessel (1) above the liquid surface, a re-circulation conduit (6,3) for carbon dioxide not dissolved in the liquid, compressor (7) and a cooler (8) being arranged in the re-circulation conduit (6,3).
