  • Patent number: 6779839
Abstract: A passenger seat having a seat back with a head restraint, the seat back pivotally attached to a seat cushion or a floor of a vehicle. When the seat back is folded down, the head restraint pivots up to allow the seat back to lay generally horizontal on the seat cushion thereby maximizing storage space without it contacting a front passenger seat.

  • Patent number: 6578910
Abstract: A vehicle seat having a ventilation system includes a network of ducts within the seat bottom, and a fan for moving air away from the seat surface. The ventilation system is configured such that a single fan may selectively move air through some or all of the ducts. Before a vehicle occupant sits in a seat, air is moved through all of the ducts to reduce the temperature at the seat surface. When the occupant sits in the seat, certain ducts in the network are closed to air flow. The air flow is now limited to the remaining ducts, which allows for efficient removal of moisture from the seat surface. After the temperature and moisture at the seat surface have reached desired levels, the speed of the fan is reduced to ensure that the occupant does not experience an unpleasant draught.

  • Patent number: 5485386
Abstract: A method and an apparatus provided to calculate and control the elongation in a running web (16), e.g. in connection with a preparation of a web in a printing machine. In connection with at least an increase or decrease in the web tension, the length change in a reference length of the web material is measured, and by means of web tension meters the web tension before and after the web tension change (.sigma..sub.1 -.sigma..sub.2) or each one of the web tension alterations is determined. The tension-free length (n.sub.o) of the reference length is also calculated and if it is needed, the elongation of the web is corrected through an increase or a decrease in the web tension depending on said measurements.

  • Patent number: 4544109
Abstract: A roll stand for rolls of sheet material allowing exchange of rolls has been invented, wherein the full rolls may be entered into or removed from the roll stand sideways. The roll spindles (16, 17) are at one of their ends journalled stiffly in a first roll holder gable (14), while the other gable (15) comprises at least two supporting arms (26, 27) with supporting bearings (46, 47) for the other ends of the roll spindles. Means (33, 29, 44) are provided to individually loosen the supporting arms from the spindles and moving them aside to make possible the entry or removal of a full roll onto or from the exposed spindle making use of a carriage or the like.
