  • Patent number: 5976453
Abstract: An expanding device for expanding strand material into a wool-type product includes outer and internal nozzle sections. The outer nozzle section has an entrance portion, an intermediate portion and an exit portion. At least a portion of the internal nozzle section is adapted to be received in the outer nozzle section. It includes a main body portion and a needle portion extending from the main body portion. The main body and needle portions include a first inner passage through which strand material passes to be expanded into a wool-type product. The needle and main body portions define with inner surfaces of the entrance and intermediate portions of the outer nozzle section an inner chamber. The main body portion has at least two bores extending through the main body portion which receive gas supplied by a gas stream source. The at least two bores communicate with the inner chamber and define a path for gas to travel to the inner chamber.

  • Patent number: 5766541
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for forming a preform from glass fiber strand material. The preform is formed by feeding continuous glass fiber strand material into a mold to form a continuous wool product in the mold; feeding a binder into the mold; compressing the mold to compact the wool product to a desired density; and heating the mold to cure the binder, such that a preform is formed having generally the shape of the compressed mold. The mold is then opened and the preform is removed from the mold.

  • Patent number: 5096750
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for curtain coating of paint or varnish on objects having profiled application surfaces, such as profiled door leaves, comprising a curtain head provided with a paint/varnish inlet and return outlet. The curtain head hereby exhibits two curtain lips positioned opposite each other, as well as an upper and a lower flow-equalization rail. The curtain head is further positioned at a predetermined height over a collector channel. A return line connects the return outlet with the collector channel and a conveyor is arranged to feed the profiled object inbetween the curtain head and the collector channel when applying the paint/varnish. The invention relates specifically to that the curtain height between the lowermost edge of the curtain lips and the application surface of the profiled object is at least 250 mm, and that the distance between the upper and the lower flow-equalization rail decreases in a direction from the paint/varnish inlet to the return outlet.

  • Patent number: 5030165
Abstract: Coin assorting device having a disc (12) mounted for rotation on a bottom plate (10) to pass below a coin supply tube (19). The rotatable disc includes two pairs of recesses (16) for receiving a coin in each recess, the bottom plate having a discharge opening (20) for coins the diameter of which is less than a predetermined maximum diameter of the coins supplied. The discharge opening (20) extends beneath the mouth of the coin supply tube (19) and is shaped with an upper chamfered edge (24). Opposite sides of the wings (14) of the rotatable disc (12) are shaped in the form of blunt edges having a thickness which substantially corresponds to the thickness of the thinnest occurring coin. Circuitry is associated with the rotatable disc (12) for momentarily reversing the rotational movement of the disc when a coin jamming is sensed.
