  • Patent number: 8720197
Abstract: A flow management system capable of providing adjustable hydraulic fluid flow or pressure at a common line to supply bidirectional pumps in electro-hydrostatic actuation systems and conditioning re-circulated hydraulic fluid. The system enables flow sharing between multiple actuation systems and minimization of energy consumption by a power-on-demand approach and/or electrical energy regeneration while eliminating the need for an accumulator. The system has particular application to electro-hydrostatic actuation systems that typically include bi-directional electric motor driven pumps and unbalanced hydraulic actuators connected within closed circuits to provide work output against external loads and reversely recover energy from externally applied loads.

Date of Patent: May 13, 2014
    Assignee: Parker-Hannifin Corporation
Inventors: Bengt-Goran Persson, Dale Vanderlaan, Lew Kasper
  • Patent number: 8209975
Abstract: A fluid system includes a controllable first pump unit for supplying fluid pressure to at least one implement; a prime mover arranged to supply a driving torque to the first pump The first pump unit is arranged to supply fluid pressure to the implement. The fluid system further includes a controllable second pump unit connected to a fluid accumulator. The prime mover is arranged to supply a driving torque to the second pump unit in order to accumulate fluid pressure in the accumulator during periods of low demand. Fluid pressure from the accumulator is arranged to drive the second pump unit to assist the prime mover during periods of high demand in order to supply an additional driving torque in excess of the available driving torque from the prime mover.

  • Patent number: 5042363
Abstract: The invention aims at bringing about a device for remote controlling of, for example, directional valves, which likewise allows a manual direct controlling, using a hand lever, for example. The control device includes a hydraulic cylinder (37) with ports (31,32) for feeding and evacuating, respectively, of hydraulic fluid, a piston (14) arranged in the cylinder (37), as well as a piston rod (13), for accomplishing the controlling function. The piston rod (13) is arranged to be slideably supported in the piston (14), allowing a limited movement of the piston rod (13) relative to the piston (14) independent of the pressure and load conditions in the cylinder (37), the movement possibility of the piston rod (13) being limited in at least one direction by a stop (17) arranged on the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4845947
Abstract: A hydraulic drive system for one or more hydraulic motors, comprising a pump (1), a tank (25) for hydraulic fluid, one or more control valve sections (10, 11, 12) each being provided with a shunt passage and each being coupled to a respective hydraulic motor, a first shunt conduit (4) including the shunt passages of said control valve sections (10, 11, 12) connected in series for leading off of the tank (25) the temporarly surplus flow of hydraulic fluid from the pump (1), and a feed conduit (3) for connecting the control valve sections (10, 11, 12) in parallel to the pump (1).
