Abstract: The present invention provides topical pharmaceutical or cosmetic compositions comprising a pharmaceutical or cosmetic carrier comprising at least 3% by weight of phospholipid; at least 20% by weight of C2-C4 alcohol;at least 0.05% by weight keratolytic agent; and optionally, comprising up to 2% by weight of water; and pharmacologically or cosmetically active agent dissolved in said carrier. The compositions are sprayable. Also disclosed is a method of preparing the composition and use thereof, as well as the pharmaceutical or cosmetic carriers as such.

Abstract: A lipid layer forming composition for topical treatment of psoriasis comprises volatile silicone oil, polar lipid, C2-C4 aliphatic alcohol, and a pharmacologically effective amount of an agent for the treatment of psoriasis, wherein the silicone oil has a boiling point above 180° C., in particular above 200° C. The composition does not comprise polymer silicone. Also disclosed are corresponding methods of treatment and of manufacture of the composition.

Abstract: A fluid carrier comprises first and second substantially immiscible liquids. The first liquid is an open-chain silicone oil of the formula [(CH3)3Si—O]—[(CH2)2Si—O]n—[Si(CH3)3]. The second liquid is a polar lipid material. The first and second liquids are capable of forming an unstable dispersion. The unstable dispersion can be stabilized by adding a powderous solid insoluble in the liquids. The powderous solid is selected from pharmacologically active agent, pharmaceutical excipient, and their mixtures. The stabilized dispersion is of a creamy or ointment-like or mouldable form, and can be filled into capsules or moulded into tablets so as to be fit for peroral administration.

The invention relates to the use of a mixture of a triglyceride oil having a solid fat content at ambient to body temperature and an emulsifier for maintaining weight after weight loss. Such use may be carried out subsequent to a period of weight loss. Preferably, the triglyceride oil is fractiorated oil and the emulsifier is galactolipid.

Abstract: A solid heparin tablet composition has a melting point of 25° C. or higher and is a continuous lipid component containing one or more polar lipids, one or more non-polar lipids, optionally one or several of water and mono- to trivalent alcohol in an amount of up to 15% by weight of the composition, and native heparin or fractionated heparin. Abstract: A new method for producing a fractionated vegetable oil from a plant material. The plant material is extracted with a non-polar solvent and the solvent is evaporated giving a crude oil which includes non-polar and polar lipids. The crude oil is mixed with an alcohol at a controlled temperature and a resulting alcoholic phase is separated and evaporated to recover a polar lipid rich fractionated vegetable oil. The invention also refers to the use of the polar lipid rich fractionated vegetable oil as a surface active agent.
