  • Publication number: 20040154192
Abstract: A sole to be placed under a patient's foot inside a shoe or being part of a prosthesis or an orthosis, with the purpose of correcting a person's gait, characterised in that the sole have two or more areas of different flexural resistance. The boundary line between the different areas have a certain shape resembling an “S”. The sole is made up of carbon fibre composites, aramid fibre composites and/or other materials, and the differences in flexural resistance are achieved for example by applying composite materials with the reinforcing fibres arranged as parallel fibres, or weave, or fabric with the fibres crossing each other at different angels and in different number of layers in different parts of the sole or applying different types of fabric and weave in different areas.

  • Patent number: 6725146
Abstract: A secondary braking device for a self-propelled diesel-driven roller (1) is especially for a vibrating roller that is operated on steep downgrades only on rare occasion. The roller (1) is equipped with an electronic engine control module (2) that is programmed so as to, when a preset primary diesel engine speed is exceeded, connect to ground an actuator relay (4) for a hydraulic valve (5) in the hydraulic system (6) of the roller. The hydraulic valve is thereby caused to interrupt the hydraulic supply pressure to one or a plurality of drum brakes (8). The drum brakes (8) generate maximum braking force upon the loss of supply pressure.

  • Patent number: 4361201
Abstract: A safety device for a self-propelled machine with a steering rod guided by an operator's handle includes a safety handle positioned proximately below the operator's handle in parallel to at least a portion of the operator's handle for grasping by the operator. The safety handle has first and second arms projecting vertically downward. A shaft is rotatably mounted in the steering rod below the safety handle, and a sleeve is journalled on the shaft. The first and second arms of the safety handle are rigidly attached to opposite ends of the shaft. An operating disc for controlling the motion of the machine is rotatably mounted in the steering rod. A spring normally biases the operating disc to maintain the machine in a stationary position. A locking arm is rigidly attached to the sleeve and engages teeth in the operating disc for securing the operating disc in a fixed position whereby the motion of the machine is constant.
