  • Patent number: 10299812
Abstract: According to one example a medical device snare is described that may comprise a first strip and a second strip, each having an interlock feature. The first interlock feature configured as a groove and the second interlock feature configured as a rail may be interlocked such that the first strip and the second strip are slidable parallel to one another so a snare portion may form a loop.

  • Patent number: 10004475
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of methods and devices for providing enhanced echogenicity to medical devices. The method includes rolling an impression roller having a plurality of protrusions and an outer surface against a medical device. The protrusions create depressions in the surface of the medical device. A guide roller forms a ridge of the depression into the depression to create a lobe. The lobe forms a pocket between a bottom surface of the depression and the lobe.

  • Publication number: 20180169379
Abstract: A medical device may be provided for insertion into a body of a patient. The medical device includes an elongate member made of a first material. The elongate member includes a first lumen and a second lumen. The second lumen defines a chamber within the second lumen. The chamber contains powdered metal. The density of the chamber differs from the density of the first material such that the chamber is distinguishable within the elongate member under a visualization technique while the elongate member is in the body of the patient.

  • Patent number: 9980699
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of devices and methods for providing enhanced echogenicity to medical devices. At least two adjacent echogenic features with an intervening section positioned between the echogenic features are formed as a helical groove in a medical device surface. Each of the echogenic features has a depression that spans between first and second transition lips. In one form, each depression includes a steep portion adjacent a shallow portion wherein the steep portion has a first radius and the shallow portion has a second radius that is larger than the first radius such that the radii capture different wavelengths of ultrasound. The intervening section has a planar surface in which the first and second transition lips do not extend above. In one form, each of the at least two echogenic features has a length that is within 0.1 mm of a length of the intervening section.

  • Patent number: 9872666
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of devices and methods for providing enhanced echogenicity to medical devices. An echogenic feature is formed in the shape of a pyramidal reuleaux triangle. A lobe is constructed at a rim of an echogenic feature to create a pocket between the lobe and a bottom surface of the feature. A test fixture is disclosed which provides a method for obtaining quantifiable echogenicity data of medical devices.

  • Publication number: 20160271366
Abstract: A steerable catheter that includes a first elongated member, a second elongated member, and a distal tip coupled to distal portions of the first and second elongated members. The first elongated member has at least one lumen and a male or female element. The second elongated member has the other of the male or female element, wherein the male element engaged with the female element. Relative movement between the first elongated member and the second elongated member causes a curveable portion of the catheter proximal from the distal tip to bend without uncoupling of the first elongated member and the second elongated member. A sheath may be provided to encircle the first and second elongated members and define the curveable portion between the distal end of the sheath and the distal tip of the catheter.
