Patent number: 8745808Abstract: A liquid applicator is configured to apply liquid to a contoured surface. The liquid applicator includes a frame with a laterally extending base and a plurality of elongated fingers spaced laterally along the base. The fingers flex to follow the contoured surface when a liquid application force is applied. The liquid applicator also includes a flexible applicator pad assembly supported on multiple ones of the fingers. The applicator pad assembly is operable to carry liquid and is flexible at least generally with the fingers so as to follow the contoured surface during liquid application.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2011Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Specialty Products of Greenwood, Missouri, Inc.Inventors: Jim Joseph Best, Marco Carroll Perry, Mark David Prommel, Kevin Min O'Leary, William Lauchlin Gulledge, Jr., William Daniel Richardson, Chad Edward Brott, B. Deré Newman, Melodie Lea Wendleton, Benjamin A. Shobert, Richard S. Dale, Todd Brunner

Patent number: 8713744Abstract: A liquid applicator includes a frame and a flexible applicator pad. The frame includes an elongated handle that presents opposite handle margins and extends in a longitudinal direction between the margins. The flexible applicator pad presents opposite applicator pad ends. The handle margins are coupled relative to the flexible applicator pad adjacent corresponding applicator pad ends. The handle presents an intermediate region that is flexible and spaced from the pad, with the liquid applicator thereby being shiftable into and out of a relaxed applicator condition.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2011Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Assignee: Specialty Products of Greenwood, Missouri, Inc.Inventors: Jim Joseph Best, Marco Carroll Perry, Mark David Prommel, Kevin Min O'Leary, William Lauchlin Gulledge, Jr., William Daniel Richardson, Chad Edward Brott, B. Publication number: 20030035913Abstract: A linear bearing includes a substrate and a strip of wear-resistant material. The strip is impregnated with a resin, and the impregnated strip is pultrusion bonded onto the substrate. The impregnated strip is thereby compressed upon and directly bonded to the substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2001Publication date: February 20, 2003Inventor: Benjamin A. Shobert

Publication number: 20030035602Abstract: A low-friction bearing is a hollow cylinder including an inner bearing surface. The bearing includes an inner anti-friction layer, a second load bearing composite laminate and an outer backing layer. The inner layer characteristically both has a low coefficient of friction and is wear-resistant. The inner bearing surface is defined by the inner layer, the inner layer being a woven material composed of commingled low-friction fibers and wear-resistant fibers, the woven material being impregnated with a resin. The second layer is composed of a continuous filament composite which results in significantly improved load capacities and impact fatigue. An outer backing layer is made substantially of a thermoplastic material, the outer backing layer being molded upon the inner layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2001Publication date: February 20, 2003Inventors: Benjamin A.
