  • Publication number: 20200359170
Abstract: A method for identifying a second mobile device in a vicinity of a first mobile device includes performing, by the first mobile device, determining distance information corresponding to a distance between the first mobile device and the second mobile device, determining angular information indicating an angle between a pointing direction of the first mobile device and the second mobile device, determining, based on the distance information and the angular information, that a location of the second mobile device lies within a first spatial region relative to the first mobile device, and providing a user interface that displays an icon corresponding to the second mobile device in a specified position on the user interface based on the location of the second mobile device being within the first spatial region.

  • Publication number: 20200339197
Abstract: A holding device for electrical components of a motor vehicle, preferably an electrical motor vehicle, includes a holding element that is designed to hold one or more electrical components of the vehicle. The holding element has a holding section for holding the one or more electrical components, and a strut section, which extends from the holding section. The holding element is designed such that when the holding element is attached to the motor vehicle as intended, the strut section extends in the vehicle front direction and vehicle transverse direction to a vehicle front section and is at a predefined angle to an axis oriented in the vehicle front direction.

  • Patent number: 10735900
Abstract: A method for identifying one or more other mobile devices in a vicinity of a first mobile device includes transmitting a first set of pulses to a second mobile device, receiving a second set of pulses from the second mobile device, and determining distance and angular information corresponding to transmission times of the first set of pulses and reception times of the second set of pulses received at the mobile device. The angular information indicates an angle between a pointing direction of the first mobile device and the second mobile device. A first probability that a position of the second mobile device lies within a first spatial region having a defined distance range and aligned with the pointing direction of the first mobile device is determined based on the distance information and the angular information. An importance metric for the second mobile device is determined based on the first probability.

  • Publication number: 20200084583
Abstract: A device implementing a system for estimating device location includes at least one processor configured to estimate a first position of a device based on a first set of parameters, the first set of parameters derived from first sensor data obtained on the device, the first set of parameters corresponding to device motion. The at least one processor is configured to estimate a second position of a user of the device based on a second set of parameters, the second set of parameters derived from second sensor data obtained on the device, the second set of parameters corresponding to user motion. Estimating the first and second positions is constrained by a predefined relationship between the device motion and the user motion. • Patent number: 10323942
Abstract: Techniques provided herein are directed toward enabling on-device learning to create user-specific movement models that can be used for dead reckoning. Because these moving models are user-specific, they can be later used to identify user-specific motions in a manner that provides for a dead reckoning location estimation. In some embodiments, these models can be focused on pedestrian movement, based on the repetitive motion that occurs when a user takes a stride (walking, jogging, running, etc.) or other repetitive motion (swimming, riding a horse, etc.).

  • Patent number: 10045154
Abstract: A method of performing functions by proxy for a set of associated proximate devices is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may comprise associating a set of user equipments (UEs), wherein upon determination that a first UE in the set is unavailable for performing a requested function, at least one alternate second UE in the associated set of UEs is selected, wherein the at least one second UE is proximate to the first UE and the at least one second UE is available for performing the requested function. • Patent number: 10041800
Abstract: Techniques provided herein are directed toward resolving a direction of travel of a mobile device based on MEMS sensor data by identifying a type of motion the mobile device is subject to and offsetting vertical acceleration data with horizontal acceleration data by a predetermined time offset based on the identified type of motion. The offset vertical and horizontal acceleration data can then be used to resolve, with an increased accuracy, a direction of travel of the mobile device.
