Abstract: Provided herein is an electronically-linkable protective smartphone case and a portable charging system comprising the protective case and a charging holster. The protective case has means for contacting a battery disposed in the charging holster and means for electronically contacting the charging port of a smartphone disposed within the protective case. The portable charging system comprises the charging holster into which the protective case/smartphone are slidably received and in contact with the battery terminals of the charging holster battery. Also provided is a method for charging a smartphone by electronically connecting the smartphone within the protective case and contacting the protective case to the battery in the charging holster whereby a charge is delivered to the smartphone battery.
