  • Publication number: 20090228511
Abstract: Information, such as files received from a client, etc., is stored in a storage system, such as a content addressable storage system. A file server receives data from a client and chunks the data into blocks of data. The file server also generates metadata for use in forming a data structure. The blocks of data are stored in a block store and a copy of the data blocks and the metadata are locally cached at the file server. A commit server retrieves the metadata. In at least one embodiment, the metadata is retrieved from an update log shared between the file server and the commit server. Based on the retrieved metadata, the commit server generates a version of a data structure. The data structure is then stored at the block store.

  • Patent number: 7217128
Abstract: An ultrasonic dental insert for an ultrasonic dental tool is provided. The ultrasonic dental insert includes a transducer, a connecting body, a hand grip, at least one O-ring and a removable tip. The transducer generates ultrasonic vibrations. The connecting body has a proximal end attached to the transducer and a distal end. The distal end has an engagement portion formed thereon. The hand grip envelopes at least a portion of the connecting body. At least one O-ring is for shock absorption, and is mounted between the connecting body and the hand grip and around the engagement portion. The removable tip engages the engagement portion.

  • Patent number: 7044736
Abstract: An insert for an ultrasonic dental unit is provided. The insert includes a transducer for generating ultrasonic vibrations, and a tip for applying the ultrasonic vibrations at a location inside the mouth of a patient. A connecting body is disposed between and attached to the transducer and the tip. The connecting body transmits the ultrasonic vibrations from the transducer to the tip. A retaining ring is snapped onto the connecting body. A hand grip is fitted at least partially over the connecting body and the retaining ring.

  • Publication number: 20030129560
Abstract: A dental tool embodying the invention includes a handpiece into which is inserted a shaft on which is mounted a head portion which extends above the top of the handpiece. The head portion includes first and second input channels which are merged into an output channel for discharging a gas, powder and liquid mixture obtained from mixing the materials supplied to the input channels. A rotatable nozzle is mounted directly or via a swivel arrangement on the head portion so as to provide a conduit from the output channel to teeth to be cleaned. The nozzle may be rotated by a dental practitioner using any of the fingers of the hand holding the handpiece to apply a force directly to the nozzle or to a swivel arrangement coupling the nozzle to the head. The head portion may be formed of an inexpensive material, such as plastic, so the nozzle and/or the head portion may be discarded after being used, without excessive cost.

  • Publication number: 20030061515
Abstract: A mechanism for providing a user with selective access to resources on an intranet. In a communications network accessible using HTTP, a reverse proxy server is coupled to an intranet and also coupled to a browser enabled client. Requests for access to resources inside the intranet are made through the reverse proxy server. Access to the requested resource is provided to the client by means of a capability-enabled uniform resource locator (URI) having a character string that is produce by encoding an identification number and a random number. The character string, identification number and random number are associated with a database record accessed by the reverse proxy server to determine whether access is to be provided to the client, and what conditions to apply to the access when the capability-enabled URI is invoked. Multiple resources may be grouped together in a secure container to which access is provided.
