  • Patent number: 12050273
Abstract: Systems/methods for object detection. The methods comprise: obtaining, by a computing device, a LiDAR dataset generated by a LiDAR system of the autonomous vehicle; and using, by a computing device, the LiDAR dataset and at least one image to detect an object that is in proximity to the autonomous vehicle. The object is detected by: generating a pruned LiDAR dataset by reducing a total number of points contained in the LiDAR dataset; and detecting the object in a point cloud defined by the pruned LiDAR dataset. The object detection may be used by the computing device to facilitate at least one autonomous driving operation.

  • Publication number: 20150198133
Abstract: A standby system includes a pump, a heater, a sensor, and a controller. The pump is fluidly coupled to a power source and configured to convey a coolant therethrough. The heater is thermally coupled to the coolant and configured to impart an amount of heat into the coolant. The sensor is thermally coupled to the coolant. The controller is operatively coupled to the heater and the sensor. The controller configured to receive a plurality of signals over time from the sensor, determine a temperature profile based on the plurality of signals, compare the temperature profile to a predetermined temperature profile, modulate the heater to increase the amount of heat in response to the temperature profile being relatively more shallow than the predetermined temperature profile, and modulate the heater to decrease the amount of heat in response to the temperature profile being relatively steeper than the predetermined temperature profile.

  • Publication number: 20060103307
Abstract: A gas discharge device is provided, which includes a plurality of electrodes; and a field enhanced material disposed on the electrodes; wherein the plurality of electrodes and the field enhanced material are enclosed a vessel containing a dischargeable gas such that at least the field enhanced material is exposed to the dischargeable gas. Also provided is a plasma display panel, which includes a front plate having scan electrodes and sustain electrodes for each row of pixel sites; a back plate having a plurality of column address electrodes disposed thereon; a dielectric layer covering the column address electrodes; a plurality of barrier ribs disposed above the dielectric layer separating the column address electrodes being in spaced adjacency therewith; and a phosphor layer disposed on top of the dielectric layer between the barrier ribs; wherein each of the phosphor layers includes a field enhanced material that is disposed on the surface of each phosphor layer or is imbedded therein.
