Abstract: An audio chair includes a plurality of speakers and a sound absorbing material. The audio chair may be designed with an egg-shaped body resting on a pedestal. The egg-shaped body may include a hollow region under the seat. A subwoofer may be mounted in this hollow region, while speakers may be mounted around the sides of the inside of the egg-shaped body. The audio chair may provide 5.1 surround sound, 7.1 surround sound, or standard stereo (2.1) sound in the space within the egg-shaped body with very little sound being delivered outside of the audio chair.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for accelerated rendering of images with transparent pixels using a spatial index. A determination is made whether anything exists behind an object in an image. If not, then transparent pixels within the object are converted to a background color and rendered as opaque pixels.

Abstract: A computer-implemented graphics program that correctly adapts images being printed to the physical capabilities of a printer. A published virtual paper is scaled to a physical paper, taking into account the virtual paper's size, geometry bounds for an image from the virtual paper being printed, balanced geometry bounds calculated from the geometry bounds, the physical paper's size and a printable area of the physical paper, so that the image being printed fits within a printable area of the physical paper.

Abstract: There is disclosed a press-on cap having a flat top with a cylindrical skirt with an annular tear band defined by a pair of annular score lines, and with at least two annular inner beads which seat in annular grooves in the neck of a bottle. The cap skirt extends below the lower score line of the annular tear band to form a tamper-proof ring which is bonded by laser radiation at least one, preferably two, spots to the neck of the plastic bottle. The spot bonds preferably have a diameter no greater than about 0.15 inch. The invention also comprises a bottle filler line which includes a capping station in which caps are applied and pressed downwardly over the narrow necks of the bottles which have been filled with a liquid such as milk or non-carbonated beverage, and a cap bonding station in which the capped and filled bottles are passed between laser beam effectors which are pulsed momentarily to spot bond the tamper-proof rings of the caps to the necks of the bottles.
