  • Patent number: 9807568
Abstract: A system and method is provided that facilitates passive building information discovery. The system may include a processor configured to track positions in a building of portable devices over time and based thereon determine characteristics of the building including locations in the building where at least some of the portable device are unauthorized, based on communications received from radio-frequency (RF) sensors mounted in spaced-apart relation across the building. Such communications may include information detected by the RF sensors from RF signals from the portable devices that uniquely identify each portable device. The processor may be configured to determine when at least one of the portable devices is detected via a communication from at least one of the RF sensors at a determined unauthorized location in the building, and responsive thereto provide at least one notification that indicates that the at least one portable device was detected at the unauthorized location.

  • Patent number: 9235989
Abstract: Embodiments include a method for adjusting a signal control plan for a traffic signal at an intersection based on local environmental conditions is provided. The method includes operating the traffic signal based on a standard signal control plan, receiving an indication of an adverse environmental condition, and determining if the standard signal control plan should be adjusted based on the indication of the adverse environmental condition. Based on determining that the standard signal control plan should be adjusted based on the indication of the adverse environmental condition, the method includes creating a modified signal control plan based on the adverse environmental condition and the standard signal control plan and operating the traffic signal based on the modified signal control plan.

  • Patent number: 9135824
Abstract: Embodiments include a method for providing a red light violator warning. The method includes detecting that a first vehicle is about to violate a red light at an intersection. Based on detecting that the first vehicle is about to violate the red light at the intersection, the method includes broadcasting a warning message to all connected vehicles in proximity of the intersection of a pending red light violation and determining if the first vehicle is a connected vehicle. Based on determining that the first vehicle is a connected vehicle, the method further includes transmitting a notification message to the first vehicle warning of a pending red light violation.
