  • Patent number: 11525850
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are presented which enable the identification of a capacitor fault in a given string of a capacitor bank, based on the computation of the string impedance by measuring the string AC current and voltages, where each string includes a plurality of capacitor elements connected in series. The method consists of measuring the string capacitive impedance and comparing this value with a previously measured capacitive impedance of the same string. If a difference between these two values is obtained, which exceeds a given threshold for a certain duration, a fault is recorded.

  • Publication number: 20200352655
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for facilitating a practitioner in guiding an insertion of a medical instrument into soft tissue of a patient. According to one embodiment, a method implemented on a computing device includes receiving a first plurality of images from a medical imaging device and receiving a second plurality of images from an augmented reality (AR) device interface. The second plurality of images includes fiducial-based information on both the medical instrument and the medical imaging device. The method further includes (1) determining a predicted position of the medical instrument using fiducial-based localization with the fiducial-based information, (2) generating a third plurality of images illustrating the predicted position of the medical instrument within a first portion of the first plurality of images and within a first portion of the second plurality of images, and (4) transmitting the third plurality of images to the AR device interface.

  • Publication number: 20200241060
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for providing an indication of a capacitor fault in a given string of a capacitor bank comprising at least one string mounted in parallel, each string comprising a plurality of capacitor elements connected in series. The method comprises obtaining a capacitor bank voltage, the obtaining comprising measuring a voltage across the capacitor bank; obtaining a current of the given string, the obtaining of the current of the given string comprising measuring a current flowing in the given string of the capacitor bank; determining a measured impedance at a grid frequency using the obtained capacitor bank voltage and the obtained current of the given string; providing an indication of a capacitor fault if a difference between the measured impedance and a previously measured impedance exceeds a first given threshold for a first given duration.

  • Patent number: 9683973
Abstract: A non-destructive testing and inspection (NDT/NDI) system and method operable to conduct an ultrasonic scanning test on a test object that synchronizes and merges the apertures of two or more NDT sub-instruments in frequency and phase. Disclosed are a method of using a Phased Lock Loop (PLL) as a synchronizing clock/trigger generator, and also a method of using a General Positioning Clock (GPS) and a pulse per second (PPS) output. Both methods combine ultrasonic scanning data acquisition from two or more NDT sub-instruments, and transform the sub-instruments into one bigger NDT instrument.
