Patent number: 12543639Abstract: An arm assembly for an agricultural header includes an arm configured to rotate about a pivot axis relative to a frame of the agricultural header and configured to support a cutter bar assembly of the agricultural header. The arm assembly also includes a mounting bracket assembly configured to couple the arm to the frame, one or more fasteners configured to couple the arm to the mounting bracket assembly, and a plate configured to maintain a tension of the one or more fasteners with respect to the arm and the mounting bracket assembly.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2021Date of Patent: February 10, 2026Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Scott P. Deichmann, Benjamin D. Kemmerer, Joel T. Cook, Luke W. Morrie

Publication number: 20240306535Abstract: A frame assembly for an agricultural header includes an intermediate frame and arms coupled to the intermediate frame. Each arm is configured to couple to a frame of the agricultural header at a respective joint and rotate relative to the frame of the agricultural header at the respective joint. Each respective joint is disposed on an axis extending through pivot joints of the agricultural header. The pivot joints pivotally couple header arms to the frame of the agricultural header, and the header arms are configured to support a cutter bar of the agricultural header. The frame assembly also includes springs coupled to the intermediate frame. Each spring is coupled to a respective arm of the arms, and the springs are configured to flex to enable movement of the frame of the agricultural header relative to the intermediate frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Blaine R. Noll, Jeffrey D. Thomas, Benjamin D. Kemmerer

Publication number: 20240196800Abstract: A crop processing assembly includes a tube-shaped cage structure and a threshing and separation rotor mounted in the cage structure. The cage structure includes one or more curved gratings at the bottom and a cover at the top, so that the rotation of the rotor actuates the movement of crops along a helicoidal path through the gap between the rotor and the cover and gratings. Inclined guide vanes are arranged on the inner surface of the cover to provide guidance to the crops. The cover includes a step between an upstream portion of the cover and a downstream portion of the cover, so that the gap between the rotor and the cover is larger in the downstream portion than in the upstream portion. The step is oriented at an oblique inclination angle, when the cover is regarded in a parallel projection view from a position above the step.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: June 20, 2024Applicant: CNH Industrial Belgium N.V.Inventors: Frank R.G. Patent number: 11622505Abstract: A header for an agricultural vehicle includes: a header frame; a flexible cutter supported by the header frame and including a plurality of cutting edges; a reel including a plurality of reel sections movably supported by the header frame, each of the reel sections including a plurality of tines and being independently movable from the other reel sections; and at least one rigid link connecting the flexible cutter to one of the reel sections, the at least one rigid link being configured to transmit flexing forces acting on the flexible cutter to the connected one reel section such that a substantially constant separation is maintained between the flexible cutter and the connected one reel section.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2018Date of Patent: April 11, 2023Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Herbert M. Farley, Benjamin D. Kemmerer

Patent number: 11399458Abstract: An agricultural header including a belt that wraps around rollers. A cutter bar assembly that cuts a crop and delivers the crop to the belt. The cutter bar assembly includes a cutter bar, a stationary blade assembly that couples to the cutter bar, a moving blade assembly that couples to the cutter bar. The moving blade assembly moves relative to the stationary blade assembly to cut the crop. A skid couples to the cutter bar and maintains a distance between the ground and the stationary blade assembly and the moving blade assembly. The cutter bar defines a recess that receives debris from the belt and directs the debris to the skid.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Benjamin D. Patent number: 10820516Abstract: In one aspect, an agricultural harvester may include a harvesting implement having a belt support assembly configured to support a conveyor belt of the harvesting implement as the conveyor belt moves relative to the belt support assembly. The system may also include a sensor provided in operative association the belt support assembly, with the sensor being configured to detect a parameter indicative of a force exerted on the belt support assembly as the conveyor belt moves relative to the belt support assembly. Furthermore, the system may include a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor, with the controller being configured to monitor the amount of the plant materials entering the harvester based on measurement signals received from the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2018Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Herbert M.
