  • Publication number: 20160318679
Abstract: A tie strap tie for holding an article or group of articles together includes an elongate strap having a locking head at one end and a tail at the other end and an elongate strap body therebetween. The tail is insertable into the locking head for locking the strap around the article or articles. The locking head contains a ball positioned for lockingly engaging said tail upon insertion via a first direction and for locking engagement therewith upon movement of the tail in a second direction opposite said first direction, thereby retaining said tail associated with said locking head. The strap body further defines a major plane and a diametrically opposite minor plane. A plurality of formed waves extends from the major plane opposite the minor plane of the strap body for providing resilient retention of the strap body about said articles or articles.

  • Patent number: 8886379
Abstract: This device is an ultra-thin vehicle where no more than twenty five percent of its solar array extends beyond the vehicle when it is being driven and the solar array is undeployed. However, this same solar array will cover an area at least twice as large as the vehicle and approximately the same size as a parking space when the array is fully deployed. This solar array is also designed to make it possible to easily orient it towards the sun during the majority of time when it is parked. Hence, solar power can be the primary source of power for a typical driver due to the lowered power needs of this tapered ultra thin vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8851560
Abstract: The device is a vehicle with a carefully designed multi-layered roof and with a solar array consisting of at least five solar panels mounted on various parts of that roof. When the vehicle is being driven none of the solar panels will extend beyond the outer perimeter of the vehicle. When the vehicle is parked, the driver will be able to cause the at least four solar panels to be repositioned in such a way that their total footprint is more than twice the total footprint of the vehicle. This vehicle will also feature an onboard computer that can help the driver do a variety of tasks that are not normally necessary for typical vehicles and which involve levels of information processing which a normal person would be better off allowing the onboard computer to accomplish.

  • Publication number: 20140297072
Abstract: The device is a group of mechanisms and three types of related computer functions that work together and with the driver to optimize the operation of an electric vehicle with a deployable solar array. The purposes of doing so are to keep the vehicle and its constituent parts undamaged and safe, to orient the solar array towards the sun for maximal electricity generation and to make sure that the vehicle's battery array maintains a proper and appropriate charge.

  • Patent number: 8409336
Abstract: An air filter system (10) has a filter housing (11), an air filter media (12), and an electrical circuit (13) electrically coupled to the media. The filter media consists of a pleated air filter material (23) with front pleat apexes (25) and rear pleat apexes (26) which are coated with an electrically conductive material to form front vertical strips (27) and rear strips (28). The electrical circuit includes a positive front electrical contact (30) and a rear electrical contact (31). The front electrical contact has a rear surface (30?) in electrical contact with an elongated front electrical contact bar (33), oriented horizontally across and in electrical contact with the filter front strips of conductive ink. Similarly, the rear electrical contact has a front surface (31?) in electrical contact with an elongated rear electrical contact bar (34), oriented horizontally across and in electrical contact with the rear strips of conductive ink.

  • Publication number: 20100193261
Abstract: The present invention is a system for supplying a long range electric vehicle and a nearby building with electricity from the sun in a cost effective way. Not only is the overall system totally efficient in the sense that virtually all solar electricity generated will be used, but the tilting solar roof that tracks the sun is a more efficient way to generate electricity than the normal method of putting stationary solar panels on the roof of a building or vehicle. Similarly, the car contemplated in the present invention will be able to achieve a far longer daily range than similarly priced electric cars. Because of the synergistic approach used, the overall system can play a significant part in weaning the world away from fossil fuels without creating huge costs that cash strapped consumers can't bear.

  • Publication number: 20090288890
Abstract: A Solar Car that is safer and far more ecologically benign than any automobile on the road today. All of its solar panels would serve a secondary purpose besides providing power. As a thin vehicle whose chasis was no wider than forty five inches, it would need an electrical system less than ninety seven volts. Connected in series, the four or five solar panels contemplated in this patent would provide most of the power. To make sure that one could use their vehicle regularly, there would also be a supplemental plug in capacity.
