  • Publication number: 20220265911
Abstract: A method of controlling thermal transfer in a perfusion system heat exchanger of an extracorporeal fluid treatment device for conditioning an extracorporeal patient fluid for administration to a patient comprises a step of providing a perfusion system heat exchanger, wherein the perfusion system heat exchanger comprises a first fluid passage for a liquid heat transfer medium and a second fluid passage for the extracorporeal patient fluid to be temperature-controlled via exchange of thermal energy with the heat transfer medium, and a step of providing the heat transfer medium through the first fluid passage. The heat transfer medium comprises a component with anti-microbial properties, such as glycol. The provision of antimicrobial fluid reduces the risk of microbe contamination of the extracorporeal fluid, and hence the risk of clinical complications.

  • Patent number: 11423073
Abstract: An audio-visual management system and process for facilitating comprehension of electronic documents. As an example, a user may access contents of an electronic document via a user interface and request a speech-synthesized recitation of any text in the electronic document. In addition, the user interface can include a navigation tool configured to visually represent significant events in the electronic document via selectable indicators, including but not limited to comments, slides, images, graphs, and/or other internal contextual markers. These indicators can serve as navigation options that can provide guidance to users as they listen to a reading of the electronic document. User selection of an indicator can initiate an audio presentation of textual content that is directly associated with the specified event. In addition, users can view availability of others currently listening to the document and connect with them to create a joint listening experience.

  • Patent number: 11423573
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system for calibrating cameras with a fixed focal point. In particular, a camera calibration system comprising one or more computing devices can project a plurality of fiducial markers on a target surface using the plurality of collimators. The camera calibration system can capture, using the camera, a plurality of images of the target surface with the camera, wherein the camera is rotated between each captured image in the plurality of images. The camera calibration system can compare the plurality of images with a ground truth projection. The camera calibration system can generate calibration data based on the comparison of the plurality of images with the ground truth projection. The camera calibration system can store the calibration data for use in rectifying the camera.

  • Publication number: 20220203556
Abstract: A system for controllably establishing adhesion or friction with an external body. The system comprises a channel member and an interface member. The channel member comprises fluidic channels communicating positive or negative pressure. The interface member is disposed over the channel member. The interface member comprises exposed portions and topographic members. The exposed portions are flexible and exposed to the pressure communicated by the fluidic channels. The exposed portions deform under the pressure communicated by the fluidic channels and reform in the absence of the pressure communicated by the fluidic channels. The exposed portions assume a convex shaped under positive pressure and concave shaped configuration under negative pressure. The topographic members are provided over the exposed portions. The topographic members move based on the deformation of the exposed portions. The strength of adhesion varies based on the deformation of the exposed portions.
