Abstract: A system of networked lighting devices includes a central controller and a group of lighting devices. Each lighting device may include a fixture controller, one or more lighting modules, and a communication interface. The central controller receives data packets and send them to the lighting devices via a ring topology. The lighting devices may be connected to each other via the ring topology, or a set of routers may be connected in the ring topology, with each router controlling one or more connected lighting devices. The central controller and/or the fixture controllers may each translate data packets from one protocol to a different protocol. The different protocol may be a protocol that is compatible with the local system of networked devices, and/or a protocol that is compatible with the lighting device(s) that will use the data packets to actuate according to a command from the central controller.

  • Patent number: 9757572
Abstract: Various methods for laser welding biocompatible material for use in implantable medical devices are disclosed. A method for laser processing includes applying a laser beam to a biocompatible material comprising at least 85% by weight zirconium oxide (ZrO2) or “zirconia” in an oxygen-free environment and depleting the material of oxygen. The depletion of oxygen converts the zirconium oxide to elemental zirconium at an interface where the material is applied to the elemental zirconium. In one embodiment, the present invention provides for an implantable medical device or component thereof made of a biocompatible material comprising zirconium oxide. The device includes a substrate that has an intrinsic conductive pathway comprising elemental zirconium that extends from a first surface to a second surface of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9760960
Abstract: In some embodiments, electronic signature service provides access to an electronic agreement by a signatory. The electronic signature service determines whether a change to the electronic agreement proposed by the signatory is acceptable. The proposed change can change a task that at least one signatory will legally be obligated to perform upon execution of the electronic agreement by all signatories. The electronic signature service determines the acceptability of the proposed change based on data indicative of changes that are acceptable to another signatory. The electronic signature service can update the electronic agreement with the proposed change based on verifying that the proposed change is acceptable. The electronic signature service can determine that the updated electronic agreement is legally binding on the signatories based on determining that the electronic agreement has been executed by all signatories.

  • Patent number: 9759759
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sensing a leakage current along a primary conductor are provided. A first fault detection module is deployed at a first location along the primary conductor and a second driver module is deployed at a second location along the conductor, where the conductor passes through current sensors at each of the modules. The modules are further linked by a safety cable, which also passes through the current sensors. The driver module drives a compensation current in the safety cable to drive the net current passing through the driver current sensor to zero. The fault sensing module senses the net current passing through its current sensor. When the sensed current deviates significantly from zero, the fault sensing module generates a leakage current indication signifying a potential ground fault between the two modules.

  • Publication number: 20170229109
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine and/or powertrain producing noise that is audible in a passenger compartment of the vehicle when the engine and/or powertrain is running. An active noise control arrangement includes a first loudspeaker disposed within a passenger compartment of the vehicle. A digital signal processor receives audio data and transmits an audio signal to the first loudspeaker dependent upon the audio data. A microphone is disposed within the passenger compartment and converts the sound from the first loudspeaker and the noise within the passenger compartment into a microphone signal. The microphone signal is transmitted to the digital signal processor, and the digital signal processor modifies the audio signal such that the audio signal attenuates the noise in the passenger compartment.
