  • Publication number: 20160246469
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer readable media for persistent conversations are described. In some implementations, a method can include receiving a communication message sent from a first user to at least one other user, and generating a persistent conversation object having a conversation content section and conversation state information. The method can also include storing the communication message in the conversation content section of the persistent conversation object, and forwarding the communication message to the at least one other user. The method can further include updating the conversation state information to reflect the receiving, storing and forwarding of the communication message.

  • Publication number: 20160239517
Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting social content on a map are provided. In some aspects, a method includes receiving a new content item. The new content item is not associated with a social network group comprising a set of subject members and a set of viewing members. The method also includes determining that the new content item is related to the social network group. The method also includes storing the new content item in association with the social network group. The method also includes associating the new content item with a geographic location. The method also includes providing for display a map and an indication of the social network group. The map includes a representation of the new content item. The representation of the new content item is positioned on the map proximate to the geographic location on the map.

  • Patent number: 9411506
Abstract: Configurations providing one or more group objects for extending the functionality of a group messaging application. Some example group objects provide functionality for location-sharing, games, events, calendar, photos, videos, money sending, video calling, audio calling, or a map view of one or more participants in a conversation. Each group object can provide contextual content including semantically relevant information with respect to the participants of the conversation. For instance, each conversation participant can modify the included group object(s) in the context of the conversation. A notification can then be provided to the conversation participants. By viewing the conversation in the group messaging application, contextual information from an included group object for the participants in the conversation can be provided.

  • Patent number: 9411971
Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic signature service automatically updates electronic documents to prevent execution by an unauthorized signatory. The electronic signature service can receive an electronic document to be electronically signed on behalf of an organization. The electronic signature service can retrieve organization data indicative of signatories that are authorized to electronically sign the electronic document. The organization data may be inaccessible to a first signatory that is associated with the document. The electronic signature service can determine from the organization data that the first signatory is not authorized to electronically sign the document. The electronic signature service can update the electronic document with a second signatory that is determined from the organization data as being authorized to execute the document.

  • Patent number: 9407797
Abstract: Methods and systems relating to compensation for discrepancies in an image that may be captured with a moving camera or a moving head. The visual artifacts in the visual field may be reduced or eliminated by monitoring head and camera movements for a Heads Up Display (HUD) application, and feeding back the movement data to a compensation circuit to eliminate or reduce the visual artifacts such as judder effect, as the head and the camera move relative to the objects that the camera may be capturing. The duty cycle of one or more pixels and/or one or more groups of pixels of the display may be varied at different rates for different head and camera movement speeds. The faster the camera or head moves the shorter the duty cycle that may be applied to the display so that the image has low persistence.

  • Patent number: 9398847
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a head-mounted display may include one or more displays for displaying images. A left and right movable disk may be placed respectively between the left and right eyes of a user and the one or more displays. The user may wear the HMD, and may adjust the spacing between the left and right disks while viewing the computer-displayed image or images through holes in the plastic discs. For example, the HMD may display a stereo colored bulls eye pattern, of which the user can only see a portion because their vision is restricted to on-axis viewing by the discs. The computer may instruct the user to move the HMD disks until the user can only see the color in the center of the bulls eye. In certain embodiments, by performing the foregoing adjustment, the eye may be oriented on the proper optical axis to look through an optimal location of a lens.

  • Publication number: 20160209670
Abstract: SMA actuator wires in an SMA actuation apparatus are connected in tension between a movable element and a support structure, applying forces to the movable element in opposed directions. Measures of the resistances of the SMA actuator wires are detected. A feedback difference measure is derived being the sum of the measures of resistance of the SMA actuator wires, relatively scaled by factors, in respect of the SMA actuator wires, the magnitude of which represents a component along the predetermined axis of a force applied by the SMA actuator wire and the sign of which represents a direction along the predetermined axis. The ratio has opposite signs for respective ones of said opposed directions. The powers of drive signals supplied to the SMA actuator wires are controlled in response to the feedback difference measure to reduce the difference between the feedback difference measure and a target difference measure.

  • Patent number: 9398367
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide suspension of noise cancellation at a noise-cancelling device using keyword spotting. In one aspect, a predetermined word or phrase can be spotted within an utterance received at the noise-cancelling device, and in response, noise cancellation can be suspended or otherwise terminated. The predetermined word or phrase can be specific to an end-user that utilizes the noise-cancelling device and/or a person that interacts with the end-user. In another aspect, interaction between an operator and the noise-cancelling device can be monitored after noise cancellation is suspended, and based at least on such interaction, a model for keyword spotting can be refined. In certain aspects, noise cancellation at the noise-cancelling device can be suspended or otherwise terminated in response to receiving a suspension directive via an electronic non-audio signal, for example, from a peripheral device.

  • Publication number: 20160204944
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing an electronic signature service where the content of an electronic document to be signed remains unknown to the service. A sender of the electronic document negotiates a specification for encoding the electronic document. In particular, the specification does not include any content of the electronic document. In this manner, the content of the electronic document can be encrypted and securely transmitted between the sender and the signer via the electronic signature service using one or more data packets conforming to the specification without permitting the electronic signature service to read or otherwise decipher the content. The specification enables the electronic signature service to certify that the signer has received the electronic document and assented to its terms.

  • Patent number: 9389281
Abstract: A solution for compensating a magnetic field sensor to permit detection of a small magnetic field in the presence of a large magnetic field is disclosed. A magnetic field sensor detects the magnetic field which produces an analog signal then encoded by an analog to digital converter (ADC) into a digital stream. A controller operating on the digital stream incorporates additional sensor data to create a compensation signal which is sent to a digital to analog (DAC) converter. This compensation signal then modifies the output of the magnetic field sensor before entering the ADC. Compensation is software controlled, and is thus adaptable to numerous conditions requiring compensation. Apart from being easily tunable, the compensation may respond dynamically to changing conditions. The invention has particular application to airborne electromagnetic surveying where small fields scattered from the Earth are measured in the presence of a large transmitted field.

  • Publication number: 20160171634
Abstract: In some embodiments, electronic signature service provides access to an electronic agreement by a signatory. The electronic signature service determines whether a change to the electronic agreement proposed by the signatory is acceptable. The proposed change can change a task that at least one signatory will legally be obligated to perform upon execution of the electronic agreement by all signatories. The electronic signature service determines the acceptability of the proposed change based on data indicative of changes that are acceptable to another signatory. The electronic signature service can update the electronic agreement with the proposed change based on verifying that the proposed change is acceptable. The electronic signature service can determine that the updated electronic agreement is legally binding on the signatories based on determining that the electronic agreement has been executed by all signatories.
