The orthotic device is configurable between a relaxed state and a rigid state, and includes at least one activation component responsive to an activation signal output by a controller in communication with the fastener installation tool. The at least one activation component changes the orthotic device from the relaxed state to the rigid state in response to operation of the fastener installation tool.

A system for forming a cotter pin is also provided that includes an electric tool having a rotatable head and a switch, and a forming tool coupled to the rotatable head that is configured to form legs of the cotter pin, and wherein the switch is configured to initiate an automatic forming sequence to form the legs. A method for forming a cotter pin is also provided that includes positioning a forming tool over a screw shaft through which a cotter pin is disposed, aligning the forming tool with legs of the cotter pin, and initiating an automatic forming sequence.

The end plate also includes a plurality of finger elements disposed over the plurality of projecting members. Each finger element of the plurality of finger elements includes a slot on a back side of the finger element that is configured to receive a projecting member of the plurality of projecting members.
