Abstract: A strand of connected elastics is disclosed. The strand includes a series of elastic bands and a series of connecting portions that connect the series of elastic bands to each other. The connecting portions may have configurations that enable them to broken when separation and use of an elastic from an end of the strand is desired. Methods for manufacturing and using strands of connected elastics are also disclosed.

Abstract: A claw type or octopus type hair clip includes a first side, a second side, a hinge pin that pivotally couples the first side to the second side, and a lock that prevents the first side and the second side from undesirably pivoting to an open arrangement. The hair clip may include features, such as tabs that may be pressed together, that release the lock to enable the hair clip to be opened and placed over an object, such as an individual's hair. When lock-releasing features are released, the lock engages, enabling the first side and second side of the hair clip to be pivotally closed while preventing the first side and second side from pivotally opening.

Abstract: A hairbrush includes features that enable an individual to firmly grip and maintain a firm grip on the hairbrush as it is used to brush tangled and/or thick hair. Such features may include an indentation in a back surface of a head of the hairbrush and one or more recesses in sides of the periphery of head at locations adjacent to a base of the head (i.e., near a handle of the hairbrush). Methods of grasping such a hairbrush are also disclosed. In addition, hairbrushes with bristles that oscillate, vibrate, rotate, or otherwise move to facilitate their movement through tangled hair are disclosed.

Air is delivered to the hair through apertures in the styling surface. Air flow is generated by a fan and its motor, which reside within the head of the brush. With the fan and the motor in the head of the brush, a maximum dimension across the handle (e.g., its diameter, etc.) may be small enough for an individual with smaller hands to hold and manipulate the brush.
