Abstract: Techniques are provided for implementing a system that can assist a user with parking a vehicle in a desired location using a portable device such as a smartphone or a personal navigation device. Implementations capture an image of the vehicle's surroundings when it is in the position the user wishes to parking (for example, when it is pulled far enough into a garage to allow the garage door to close). Subsequently, when the user wishes to park in that location again, one or more comparison images are captured in real time and compared to the reference image. When the current comparison image agrees with the reference image, the vehicle is in the correct position.

Abstract: Techniques are described to exchange location information between a location-aware client device and friend devices via a server that is configured to communicate with one or more friend finding services. The server may reformat the location information for communication between the client device and the friend finding services when the location information is provided in a format that is not supported by one or more of the client device, the friend device, or the one or more friend finding services.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided to integrate navigation data, such as GPS navigation data, with Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) expense reporting functions to flexibly, accurately and efficiently determine travel distances for expense reports. One aspect provided herein is a method of using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to provide travel expenses for an expense report. Navigation data is used to determine a travel distance, which is associated with a PDA expense report entry. In one embodiment, a procedure for determining a travel distance is selected. One procedure involves calculating a route between a starting location and an ending location. Another procedure involves determining a distance along a track log between the starting location and the ending location. Another procedure involves incrementing a counter to monitor a distance traveled from the starting location. Other aspects are provided herein.
