  • Publication number: 20240110798
Abstract: A method is provided for determining a starting point between entities. The locations of the entities are determined in a map, a circle enclosing all entities is determined and an optimum position of the starting point is determined iteratively. The starting point initially coincides with a center point of the circle enclosing the entities. To find an optimum position of the starting point for each entity, a route is determined between the respective location and the starting point. In order to shift the position of the starting point, a sum of all of the temporal or physical distances of the routes between entities and the starting point falls below a defined maximum distance, and/or a temporal or physical distance difference between a shortest and a longest route falls below a specified maximum difference.

  • Patent number: 10396444
Abstract: An antenna assembly including a support and antenna tiles disposed in the support. The antenna tiles form an external surface corresponding substantially in shape to lateral faces of a frustum. The frustum includes a central axis with the antenna tiles disposed around the central axis of the frustum and sloping away therefrom. Each antenna tile includes opposite ends, with one end narrower than the other end. A planar array of antenna elements is disposed on each antenna tile in which the antenna elements of each array are configured to operate as a phased array. A control system connects to the planar arrays of antenna elements in which the control system is configured to selectively activate and deactivate each of the planar arrays.

  • Patent number: 9583829
Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing low profile SATCOM antenna panels affixed to a moving vehicle. An elongated SATCOM antenna panel has a narrow azimuth beam optionally having a typical width of no more than a 2-degree angle while the SATCOM antenna panel is maintained parallel to the motion trajectory of a carrying vehicle. An actuation unit rotates the SATCOM antenna panel about three orthogonal axes: a longitudinal axis (Roll rotation), a vertical axis (Yaw rotation) and a lateral axis (Elevation rotation). The actuation unit actuates the antenna panel so it is maintained aligned with the Earth's equatorial plane and the narrow azimuth beam optionally having a typical width of no more than 2-degree angle eliminates adjacent satellite illumination.

  • Publication number: 20070085744
Abstract: An RF antenna structure (e.g., a planar array) includes at least one radiation cell (and typically many, e.g., 16 or 32 or 64, etc.) having a conductive enclosure and an upper probe and a lower probe located at different heights within the enclosure. The enclosure between the upper probe and a bottom of the cell has at least two different cross-sectional areas. The upper and lower probes are preferably oriented at substantially 90° relative to each other. An upper portion of the enclosure beneath the upper probe may have a larger dimension than a lower portion such that the upper portion allows propagation of waves generated by the upper probe in a predetermined frequency band while the lower portion (e.g., above the lower probe) does not substantially allow propagation of waves generated by the upper probe, in the predetermined frequency band.
